I've been tearing up four and five pound bass up on soft plastic strike king ragebug, and have had little success with googan's squad bandito bug. I have come here to ask people (that aren't sponsored by googan) why you would overrate a plastic that falls apart on one catch, over another lure that guarantees three or four.

Ragetail is just much better bait, designed by a fisherman.  Look around here for @BIG O or on social for Steve Parks.  I swear by Rage Craws on a T-rig with a 3/8 oz. sinker.  It's a go to all summer long.  'Bama Craw is really the color I like around here, but they all work at times.

"I like it, so everyone should like it" syndrome.

Rage tail baits are really good baits. I don't usually care about brands in soft plastics, because there are so many now days. If they catch fish, I use them.

There are only a few types of plastisol made.

Each brand will have its own recipe for colours, flakes and salt and your supposed to have an original mold.

Well I have learned some things that work for some people don't work well for me.

The other thing I could add here is that the Rage Bug is basically the original. It took off and became popular because it clearly works. The Bandito Bug is basically a copy. I'm not sure what went into making the copy, but it seems like they just made it larger.

Rage Bug is a great bait.  The Googan Squad is a satanic cult. ?

Just my humble opinion.

I've heard guys complain about Rage tail baits. The soft texture doesn't last as long. But, they work very well. The soft texture is part of what makes them work IMO.

I especially like the Rage Menace grub. All around versatile bait. T rig, Shakey head or jig trailer.

For us humble delusional bass fishermen, what is your estimate on the number of syndromes we are afflicted by? Is there any hope - any reprieve from our failure?

Doomed, bass only or bass mostly anglers are their own worst enemies. Look at most of the best bass anglers, and they have a multi species back ground that doesn't involve dogma.

Rage Tail & Rage Bug are about the only craws I use anymore. I tried Zoom and Berkley also with good success. The Berkley were not durable, but fish held them a long time.

Seems like the enemy is misinformation and marketing? So couldn’t one still be successful by simply not paying attention to anything but the fish and perhaps our lord and savior @Deleted account

My two favorite brands are perhaps the two worst brands in terms of durability.....Roboworm, and Zoom.

1-2 fish max on these baits.    Sure I wish they were like strikeking stuff, but producing fish is the goal, and these brands do that in spades.

No, because there are several skills and experience that are lacking in bass fishing.

What species are good to start with to branch out?

Panfish could be one direction. Esox would be the opposite. Both are fairly logical leaps from bass. I live near world class trout fishing, so I do that too.

Doesn't matter, fishing is fishing.  Different fish and fishing for them will teach you things that translate into other types of fishing. A lot of bass guys fish in a bubble of their own making that fools them into thinking that bass fishing is somehow different, it's not.

Lately it seems I’m getting one fish, maybe 2 per Rage Bug. Which I can deal with because the Rage Bug just gets bit.

Well, I did want to start fishing for bait more, so that would be great.

The closest I use to live bait anymore are egg sacks for trout. Even then, a bead may fish just as well.

I haven't been impressed with Googan soft plastics while trying them, they are not durable in the least bit. I can get 4-5 fish on a strike king plastic before it has to go. The rage menace has been phenomenal for me this year, especially as a jig/chatterbait trailer.

Not looking to catch the panfish for use as bait ?. I could, but that ain’t the goal. Rather eat em or just learn where they are

I'm a huge Rage Bug fan.  Same with their craws and a few other Rage items.   I have never used a googan bait.   It will be real hard to get me to part from Rage, Zman, and Missile.
