Super User scaleface Posted September 3, 2022 Super User Posted September 3, 2022 I think the square bill bite is happening at a local lake . I have a lot of lures that have not been used . So going through my lures I found a Xcalibur xcs100 crankbait , chartreuse black back . I read about that lure here before , so am eager to throw it for the first time . I have to start using some of these lures that I have never used on even opened .. 1 Quote
Super User Columbia Craw Posted September 4, 2022 Super User Posted September 4, 2022 It’s a very good square bill and runs to about four feet. I would consider a hook change but fish that dude. 1 Quote
a1712 Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 Come fall I'll be hammering them on that exact bait on Rip Rap. If they won't smash that one I'll switch to orange/brown back. It's always one or the other. Brian. 1 Quote
Super User Spankey Posted September 4, 2022 Super User Posted September 4, 2022 Just the fact that it’s a chartreuse with black back will most likely get it done. 1 Quote
rangerjockey Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 If you don't like it, you can probably make a few bucks on it. The 50 size was bringing 30 or 40 dollars on the auction sites. I think Booyah brought it back a couple years ago but the original will always hold value, Like the Wiggle wart, Vixen ect. 1 Quote
Super User smalljaw67 Posted September 4, 2022 Super User Posted September 4, 2022 One of my favorite square bills!!! I have a bunch of XCS 100 and 200 and they are fish catchers. Citrus Shad is a top producer for me. Before the did away with the Xcalibur brand they had a real craw series. They had a matte finish that was textured, I only have 2 left but they did a number on the river smallmouth!!! They run just about 3', you may get to 3.5" with 8lb fluorocarbon. I have both the original Xcalibur XCS 100, 200, and a few 300 models and the new Booyah XCS1 and 2. I don't see much of a difference between them so I'm guessing Booyah is using the original molds. If they are hitting shallow cranks in your water right now then that is a good one to throw. 1 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted September 4, 2022 Author Super User Posted September 4, 2022 I have a lot of cranks that have never been used . Beside the Excalibur , there is the Fat free shad , several Lee Sission baits still in the package , some Poes and others . Quote
Super User Deleted account Posted September 4, 2022 Super User Posted September 4, 2022 They catch fish, but I like other LC RC clones better. 1 Quote
