Need feel reccomendations for 3 Rods

Dobyns 806 HSB to throw A-rigs and swimbaits 

 

Dobyns 804 for carolina rogs

 

Dobyns 736 glass for chatter baits

 

would a zillion sv work fine for all 3?

Yeah, the same reel would be fine for all. The 806 is starting to get a little specialized but with braid on that rod and mono/fluoro on the rest you’re fine.

Maybe mix it up a little bit and get 2 SV's but put the HD version on your 806. I've been really pleased with the one I picked up a few weeks ago and I'm pretty sure its permanent home will be on the Dobyns 795 I use for magnum topwaters, large wakebaits and rats.

The zillion would not be a good swimbait reel imo.

Capacity. Need more line capacity for bombing those baits out there.

 

That's why the HD would probably be better.

A Ferrari isn’t going to be good in the mud or at rock crawling. Just because you spend a lot of money doesn’t make it good at everything.

You definitely shouldn’t be paying $400 for any zillion. 
 

Line capacity and light duty. 
 

Go lexa hd for swimbaits.

The Zillion isn't a tiny reel but it has a spool with a capacity meant for 10-16 lb line, not 20-30 like a proper swimbait reel.

 

OP, don't use braid with large swimbaits. Get a real swimbait reel for your 806 and use an appropriate line.

I was leaning towards a Tranx but again wasn’t sure in gear rario?

 

Dobyns 806 for swimbaits and mostly A-rigs, 

would you go Tranx or Lexa HD and what gear rario?

I don't have experience with any of the newer low profile big bait reels but I would look at the Lexa and Tatula from Daiwa or the Curado K and Tranx from Shimano, all in the 300 size. 

 

You could also go with a Conquest from Shimano or a Luna or Ryoga (if you can find them) from Daiwa, if you like round reels. 

 

I'm sure Abu or Lews or maybe someone else make larger big bait reels but....I'll pass on those. 

 

I would go with a minimum of 20 lb mono or copoly for your big baits. I've had good luck with 25 lb pline CX but the mono or copoly of your choice should work.

5.5 or 6.3 with 22lb sunline defier armilo. Tranx would work but you were asking about Zillions so thought you’d want a daiwa. I like daiwa better.
