Any and all that show a hook buried past the barb in human skin.

When I saw the thread title I though it was about my photography skills.

Regarding the picture of the hook buried in my skin.  It looked worse than it was.

i read that the red slashes on the side of the heads (visible on mr turtle to the right) means they were pets. in any event, the california native turtle (i have no idea what the scientific name is) is pretty drab by comparison.....

These turtles are all over California but are not native here. It's called a Red-Eared Slider. Owning a turtle won't make it grow a red stripe if that's what you meant. Not sure what you read.

These are commonly kept as pets so maybe that's the confusion. Western Pond Turtles, the only real "native" of Cali, isn't as colorful.

Years ago our son got another camera and gave me his old one.  It was in a dive case and I take it in my kayak.  It's a Casio Z57 that can be programmed to take 3 pictures on a timer and has a 3xs non digital telephoto lens + digital.  I prop it up and shoot.  I've bought several spares on ebay for $20 or so.  In my real boat I use my Iphone propped up on the dash.  They both take very acceptable pictures.

I bought a couple of inexpensive action cameras this year but found that the suction cup and sticky mounts would not work on my kayak. So I'm going to have to by some track and some mounts to get it all set up. I just haven't taken the time to do it yet.

My thought was to have one camera mounted behind me without the protective case so it captures audio. The other camera will be mounted lower near the bow in the waterproof case. That way I can strip the audio as needed from the camera behind me and drop it in the second camera footage.

I too got tired of poor photos. I never had any real size reference and they all looked the same using a hand held digital camera.

My solution to this was to purchase a used GoPro and set it up on a camera boom fashioned from a telescoping monopod stick and Ram mounts. It's powered by a remotely located Nocqua 10ah battery via a 3BR Powersports external power kit. It works really well and I use a remote to start recording. I found that the voice control was inconvenient and erratic.

I video in 4k/60fps and use DaVinci Resolve 18 for post production. I'm still learning but the results so far have been really good. I extract stills from the video.

Pictured is the camera boom (while sitting on the trailer).

Here's a still I pulled from the video....1021806754_AerialBass2_1.2.1.thumb.jpg.5a42e6de368668cbd19a5726787d934e.jpg
