I'm not giving up my spinning tackle any time soon.  This year I've caught most of my bass on spinning tackle.

I took this pic just for this thread yesterday………

Last night one of my rigs went into the drink. I swam for close to an hour trying to find it, I think it was too deep and the dam release was coming soon so I gave up. Figured I’d use my braid rig……….

I tied the perfect leader knot and fished for a while. At some point, as always, the braid got wrapped around the tip. I was a tad frustrated already so I guess I reeled it too tight, the braid just snapped. In a near fit of rage, I stripped all the stupid braid off and put 6 lb mono on, and of course finished the evening tangle free.

straight mono makes things quick and easy, especially in places where break offs are inevitable (swift water full of logs and rocks)

Why would anyone hate any fishing gear???

I have use for both... but if I had to choose only spinning or casting gear, I'd choose spinning. Extreme versatility in the spinning rod world.

What I mentioned earlier on this post about gliding/swimming and jigging Ned Rig with spinning way better than baitcaster. I did just that this evening and have so much fun with it. My bad wrist prevents me from using spinning this year. I figured a little bit popping/jigging wouldn’t hurt. 3 bass and 1 catfish on ML spinning, good time.
