Super User roadwarrior Posted August 26, 2022 Super User Posted August 26, 2022 Things generally pick up around the middle of the month, 10/15. 1 Quote
Super User NorthernBasser Posted August 26, 2022 Super User Posted August 26, 2022 I was watching earlier. One thing I always wonder is, when they're live fishing, how are they getting these weights in real-time for the BassTrakk? They aren't being weighed right away like they do in MLF. Quote

A lot of those guys under estimate their weights , a lot . Quote

I love the diversity of techniques. 1 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted August 27, 2022 Author Global Moderator Posted August 27, 2022 I saw guys looking down at live today…….. and diversity of techniques at the last event I think it’s the deep clear water and smallmouth that you guys don’t like hahah Quote

Several guys there used a Carolina rig which caught me off guard. That said like at the top 10- 7 of those guys used dropshot and Ned rig. Just feel like in general in largemouth tournaments there seems to be more diversity. Maybe I'm wrong. 1 Quote

Just seems to me like they guys that don’t like smallmouth tournaments really just don’t like deep water tournaments because this one has plenty of smallmouth Quote
snake95 Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 Ok guys educate me: basstrakk is showing a Saturday cut line but everyone is still fishing. Clearly this cut line doesn’t apply to this tourney. Is there a top 10 or some other cut line for championship Sunday? Or is it wide open since this determines AOY? Or something else? Quote

They didn't start Thursday, they started yesterday...so today is Day 2, tomorrow is top 47, Monday is top 10. 1 Quote
Johnbt Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 Thanks, I didn't watch enough to tell what was going on. The first fish I saw got bounced 3 times on the carpet. The next fish I saw got pinned between the angler's arm and his body. I went outside and put a coat of teak oil on a shower bench for my wife. Quote

Most smallmouth in bigger water during midsummer move deeper offshore. If they would fish these locations more in the spring, I think you would see a more diverse approach other than the primary vertical finesse stuff. When I target brown bass in the spring, I use a lot of power tactics like jerk baits, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, crank baits, etc. The fish also tend to be shallower because of the spawn. 1 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted August 27, 2022 Super User Posted August 27, 2022 Did Matt Robertson get his wigs clipped after last tournaments antics ? He said yesterday that peep shows are not free and said nothing today . Quote

They hit the spawn up north on smallie tournaments a few times and the floggers made everyone mad. Ban smallmouth fishing all together! Haha Quote
