evo2s197 Posted August 29, 2022 Posted August 29, 2022 I use the Bite Me Tackle Finesse Shakey Heads they come in 2/0 size, perfect for the zoom finesse worm or a 4.5 inch straight tail roboworm. Here's a picture with a 4.5 inch roboworm 2 Quote

Anyways, the mushroom head is called a wormnose. I can get up to a 4/0 lightwire hook to fit in the 1/4 and 3/16 weights i cant remember with the 1/8. Its what i use, but i dont do alot of shakyheading to warrant buying another mold or shakyhead jigs. Quote

An alternative would be rigging the trick worm on a light wire 2/0 standard worm hook with a 1/26oz tungsten weight pegged. The tail will stand up if rigged this way, duplicating the result of a shaky head. It's how I rig it when fishing in mid-summer to early fall when there's still lots of grass, weeds, and algae. Using the thin-wire 2/0 hook and 1/16oz tungsten pegged weight means less fouling on weeds and such. When you say : "light wire 2/0 standard worm hook" are you referring to a straight shank worm hook or an offset worm hook ? Quote
