PaulVE64 Posted September 18, 2022 Posted September 18, 2022 I found a white Pond Magic spinner bait amongst my tackle. Remembering this thread I decided to try it today and d**n if I didnt catch a pale smallie. Inspired I was. 1 Quote

I often throw a 1.0 or 1.5 size bait and fish it around the current breaks that are always there. Saying all of this, give me a 4" or bigger walking bait and fish it slightly up and across, work it fast and it gets killed. 1 Quote

Thats great, then you probably know about the other dams in and around fergus falls and checked them out allready. I wont be going back to this place even though i am an hour away only because of the great luck i am having at the dam here in north dakota. The dam here gives us the opportunity to catch smallies, white bass, walleyes, pike, muskie and with the wife now a walleye fanatic she is having good success. She also told me she likes hanging out amongst all the boulders as it keeps me from wondering off to far so she doesnt have to worry about me as i am always in her sight hehe. 4 Quote
nbbassin Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 For cranks something with a long bill so it stays down in the current and doesn't roll, a short arm spinnerbait so it doesn't roll., Tube on a 3/4 head, grub, jig worm, Ned etc Lighter stuff on the edges. A popper at the end of the white water too. Quote
