Hey ya'll,

Not really sure if something like this will take off or if a thread like this has been posted in past but figured I'd start a thread for people to share their cooking/baking creations for ya'll that like to do either of these. Maybe share photos of some fish you cook up.

Anyways, I made some homemade biscuits again. My fourth time making them I think. This batch turned out really nice. I like one of these with breakfast.

Let's see what ya'll making!

I've been making breads for years, mostly Jewish Rye for Rubens after the local bread shop closed. Started doing artisan bread about a year ago going by the Flour Water Salt Yeast book, maybe a loaf a week until I had 2 teeth removed. Pretty easy for top notch bread if you have a dutch oven but it has a hard crust, which means no more bread till my implants are done.

My wife is the real baker int he family, all I do is bread.

I learned when making biscuits that baking powder is good. Baking soda is not good.

And don’t eat bakers chocolate ?

I think @Deephaven bakes enough bread to feed this whole website

4 baguettes and hamburger buns twice in just the last 3 days....but not sure that would feed the whole website.

So the other day I took a stab at making Peking Duck. Very traditional Chinese dish and have no experience with it. Made it and my wife almost passed out, she hadn’t had it since she was a kid and her father passed away, brought back lots of good memories for her. So i guess I did good ?

I would argue I am a better cook than a bass fisherman.  by a mile.

the only other forum I frequent is a cooking forum.

right now I am trying to bolster my ethnic food resume.  as a Chinese dude born in Texas, I got settled in my ways.  working on Korean food, and Persian stuff now.  but here was Italian day..

I'm the chef since the wife can't stand at the stove long enough to even prep, much less cook.

Linguini and Clams

Shrimp Alfredo (yes, sauce from scratch)

Tonight it's Mushroom Chicken...which is really easy.

Every time my wife makes a mistake in the kitchen I get it for supper. If somebody asks me fix them something to eat I have two questions. Do you want your peanut butter sandwich creamy or crunchy? Do you want it with or without jelly? LOL

I love my wife, I really do.

But I cook purely in self-defense.

She knows it too.

My lovely bride of 28 years is an amazing cook. With 8 kids you don't eat out much. Nor do you eat from boxes due to costs. So, she cooks from "scratch", as they say. This example is sourdough pizzas. She nurses the dough for days to make it "sour". Roll it out and place in a heated and oiled #8 cast iron skillet. Maintain medium heat on cooktop while adding pizza sauce and desired toppings. Once the bread is browning on the bottom place in oven set on high broil until toppings are sizzling. This cooks the top of the sourdough as well. I smoke a Boston butt and pull it for a barbecue pizza that won't wait!

I eat healthy and exercise religiously all week. But, on Friday evening I indulge in a couple of slices of this pure heaven....

I know this guy with 8 kids.  he has two sets of stackable laundry machines.  we went to his basement to get some car parts and he said those machines NEVER stop running.  EVER.  they were running when I saw them.  all 8 kids were athletes so there was a lot of laundry.  24/7.  hahahha

Made Gyro's and a greek salad last night.  Didn't have much time, but homemade pitas are fast and the rest is pretty much **** we had lying around.  I make roasted gyro loaf in bulk and freeze it for frying up later.

I do okay sometimes, thanks. That was pretty dang good, although I failed making some Spanish rice as a side. Few nights ago made burgers cooked Gordon Ramsey style with baked potato and that turned out fantastic.

We eat good. Last night roommate made a Crunchwrap and that was pretty sweet.

I do 99% of the cooking in our house.  ironically enough my 6 year old daughter loves Mac and cheese and it is the homemade stovetop variety.  I never measure anything but it is always good.  Tonight the wife was cooking cause i had to work later than normal and she was worried about making too much cheese sauce.

Daughter eats it and says who made this, it needs more pepper jack and the sauce is too thick ?

Grandson likes broccoli. I steamed broccoli yesterday to go with his fish dinner. Well, he wouldn't eat it. He's used to grandma's broccoli which is overcooked mush if you ask me.
