Does anyone know or have a recommendation of a line on the market that is a cross between Flouro/ Mono taking the best qualities of each?

Thumbs up for YZH. I use 12# on my crankbait rig, 8# on my M/F casting rig and 4# on my ML/MF spinning rig.

Runcl on Amazon.  I normally wouldn't recommend an off brand but this stuff has been pretty good. I have tried it on both spinning and casting gear. I wouldn't use it to replace Invizx, Tatsu or Sniper for FC but as  hybrid I like it. The price is good too.

The #4 is 8 1/2 pound breaking strength. Great for spinning gear!

Across the board, YZH tests higher than what they put on the label - and that's according to the IGFA

I have been using 10lb yo Zuri hybrid on my all around baitcasting set up this year and so far I really like it. Will be picking some up in 4lb soon for spinning.

Go by diameter, not lb test.

Does the Zuri line work well for both topwater and fishing off the bottom?

Yes, it's an all-around line.

My personal observation is that with the mix of mono (floating) and FC (sinking), YZH is pretty close to neutrally buoyant - so it's effect on many lures is negligible.

Where can you find 4#? What’s the diameter?

BPS, DSG, Academy, Scheels...for some reason, TW doesn't carry the 4#. Also note that they don't do the 600yd spools in 4# - only the 275yd.

.009" - same as 6# Trilene XL

I would also highly suggest getting some KVD - YZH is a little stiffer than mono of the same diameter...probably has to do with the embedded FC.

Ya...embedded, not an FC coat over mono.

Thank you. I usually run braid to flouro on my spinning outfits. Tried the flouro only route and the line jumping off the spool got irritating. The higher breaking strength of the 4# has me intrigued. Why use 8# when I can use the 4! I’ve got spare spools for some of my reels that I can load up with Yozuri to check it out. I do have the KVD.

In my experience, YZH has great knot strength...only time I've 'broken off' was when a pike bit through it...otherwise nothing.

Another option is Suffix Advance Monofilament. I’m using 10 pound on both casting and a spinning reel.
