buying baits from Ebay.

admittedly, i got it into my head i needed one particular worm.  totally unhealthy obsession.  lets call it forbidden fruit.  i check TW on occasion and they keep pushing the date they get some back and back.  i think it slipped more than a year.   i would push it out of mind and it creeps back in.  i even got to first name basis with "Patty" over there in ZoomBaits.  hahah.   i buy a competitors worm and i'm successful with them.

 

BUT, you never know....

 

i found some on Ebay!!  before i knew it i was tapping in my shipping address and logging into Paypal.   the seller totally ghosted me. hahah..i'm out $20 if this all goes to hell in a handbasket.  Filing a claim with Paypal has a few hurdles that are not worth the effort.  i have to court Ebay first.  sure..i'll get right on that.    well, two weeks later, i get a shipping notice from Ebay!!  what?!!  

 

funny but true.  Patty emailed me and gave me insider info as to which tackle company bought some in that color.  i'll give it a few days to see if anything shows up, and then i will visit Patty's online store recommendation.  

 

this worm better not suck!  hahhahah..  this bait monkey is bi-polar. 

my kayaking friends and i give baits nicknames. that way when we tell each other what the fish are biting on, the other fishing people within earshot are confused as heck.  

 

i think i have a nickname for this worm. .haha.

I got that way with the Old Netbait BK Tube in the "Lou's Special" color when they discontinued them.  Became obsessed and was trying to "corner the market" on them.  Gave up after awhile but I would still buy everyone I could find if I could find them

There are a few older vintage kick butt power worms I’d like to get my hands on but what I’ve seen on eBay doesn’t look worth buying. Not sure how they were taken care of. Soft plastics can last half a lifetime in kept properly.

Zoom does limited runs in special colors once a year. My favorite is Candybug.

The large auction site has so many users now that prices tend to be efficient market prices or more, so I only use it to find interesting out-of-production stuff or current stuff that is not otherwise available.

There's a fishing store online who's headquarters is in AL that seems to get a lot of special run zoom. They are on the naughty list on BR or I'd share the URL.

One in KY - another site - also gets the special runs...they got the Cranberry right now. That's where I go for all my Zoom products...they seem to always have what I need in stock.

What are they? You can message me if you don't want to give up the secret. I for some reason have a bunch of discontinued Power baits?

 

As for the unique colored Zoom baits there are 3 main places I know of. Problem is none of them have zcraw jrs in tiapia.

I've bought an occasional discontinued lure on ebay.  I primarily look for the Terminator Titanium spinnerbaits or the Storm Subwart, both of which were killed off when Rapala bought them out.

Cant believe what subwarts bring on eBay now.  Makes me happy to have raided the Gander bargain bins hard when they were basically giving them away.  I'm set for life (maybe) with 4 colors in 2 sizes plus a few odd ducks thrown in.  I do die a little still when I get bit off.
