That’s a beast

i don’t know about beast but I sure do love it. It has the air suspension which rides silky smooth on the highway (plus dropping it down 2” is handy for loading the boat in the bed).  The back seat is comfy for 3 adults to sit there, but even better is folding up the seat and folding down the flat floor. It gives me a full flat back floor which is awesome for throwing my fishing stuff when the boat is in the bed. The ram boxes are nice too.

I traded in my 2014 F-150 for a 2019 Ford Ranger on Saturday.  They gave me a really good trade in and now I can park in my garage again (third stall is recessed so its 2 feet shorter).  I towed my boat around for  a little bit yesterday with it, really not much difference than my previous F150 to be honest since my boat/trailer isn't very heavy.  It has a Durashield Bed Liner and a hard accordian-style tonneau cover with keyed lock.

2005 Ford Five Hundred I bought off my Grandma when the transmission on my 2006 Saturn Aura died. Over 200,000 miles on it and she's still kicking.

Daily Driver - 2007 Camry with 92K. I bought it May of 2021 with 74K miles for $4,000. Its ugly but I sure like filling up once a month.

The real daily driver is the 2020 CR-V, but it's just a car. My real vehicle is a 2012 F150 4x4 Supercab w/8' bed with 110k on it. I towed a 5th wheel back and forth cross country for 8 winters, now it's for dump runs and fishing, 3k a year @ 16 mpg since 2020. For the price of these things I hope it lasts forever. If it goes to 200k, at 3k a year it should last another 30 years.

2018 4Runner. I love this thing. Had a 2000. Like the size of that one better but the newer one is more comfortable and the suspension eats up everything. Love not have to dig out of snow. Just put it in 4wd and go. I never worry about getting stuck. The 4Runner will take me anywhere.

I had a Ranger for a few years. Thing was a beast. But using it as a landscaping truck really beat it to hell and sent it to an early grave. Miss that truck.

Over the years my daily driver has been all over the map.  Everything from a ten year old beater to new Trucks, Cadillacs, Corvettes, Fords, Lincolns and a even a few Italian and German sports cars.   Most everything I have owned has had a trailer hitch.  My best friend says I will probably have a hitch on the hearse that takes me to my final resting place.  ☺️

In 2020 I purchased what I believe is the best American car I have ever owned, a new Ford Explorer.   This car is nothing like the old Explorer and it is truly amazing.  It is roomy, rear wheel drive, gets 30 mpg on the highway, tows my Ranger RT178 like it's not back there and looks to be more expensive than it is.  In two years of ownership, I have put about 30,000 miles on this vehicle and it has never had a single problem.  It has a 300 hp engine with four drive modes and it's quicker than most SUVs at the stoplight.   Now that they are outlawing gas cars (seriously?), this may be the last vehicle I ever own and I'm OK with that.

My wife drives an 08 fit 270,000 something miles.  Great car and one of my fishing buddies is a master Honda tech. He adjusted the valves once a few years ago and showed me how to switch the coil packs. She just lays the back seats down and uses it like an SUV, runs like a top

The way you can configure the backseats all sorts of ways is great, it's huge space for a tiny car, and almost 40 MPG highway is a plus.

I had one right after college for a few years (2005 - 2009).  They stopped making them for a while and resumed in 2018 I think.  They are nothing like they were years ago.  They are more like a full size truck now, just scaled down.  I have the trailer package on mine and the towing capacity is 7500 pounds.  I've only had it for a few days so I'm still learning all of its features.

The one downside compared to my previous F150 is the size of the fuel tank.  That truck had a massive fuel tank and I filled up like once a month or less.  This Ranger has an 18 gallon tank, so I can't go as far on one full tank.  But, I think the increase in fuel mileage will make up for that.

Exactly what I like about the Matrix, too.  I take that to Home Depot more than my truck.  The thing swallows 12' lumber with the front seat down.

mine is magical.  kinda rough and ugly now, but it is magic.  ...... i have been all over the .... USA with it doing things like..... fishing, road trips.  ......  it gets crap mpg....  but it gets me and my kayak everywhere i want to go.  it runs smooth as the day i bought it used with 10,000 on the ODO..

2009 5.7 Durango.  Got it in 13 or 14.  Had been a government vehicle that was maintained, but not driven.  Think I paid 11K.  It is the very most basic vehicle available in 2009.  Power windows and a single cd player.  If it weren't for a couple stupid emissions sensors, I would say it has been entirely free of any problems beyond routine.  It will tow nearly anything.  Mileage isn't great, especially for a 200 mile weekly commute, but I won't complain about that

Original daily driver was a 1993 Jeep Wrangler 4.0, 5 speed I bought when we lived in Massachusetts.  My daughter learned to drive on it here in Virginia, then took it to college and now it’s on her farm with 475,000 miles.  When I went to Florida, I took my 2004 Silverado 3/4 ton, 6.0 HD and my bass boat.  While there I bought a 2002 Lexus SC430 V8 hardtop convertible to tool around in.  Both came home with me and I traded the Silverado in on a new 2016 High Country.  Since I am now retired, the Silverado is my daily, it has 70k on it and will probably be my last truck.  Just got the Lexus back in running shape, it has some leaky valve cover gaskets and I had to drop a new battery in it.  Wife drives a 2016 Highlander.

I drive a work car ( Ford focus) to , during, and from work, so that accounts for the majority of my driving. Rumour has it that they’re getting me a new Ford ranger this fall. I hope so, because it’s a chore to get in and out of the focus each time !

My personal vehicle is a 2006 Gmc envoy. 287,000 miles. No AC.

“ Old faithful “ was my ‘98 dodge ram that I loved. Let relatives borrow it and they totalled it…so been truck-less for 2 years now.?

My daily driver was a 2017 Tundra until I tripped across a 1999 Honda CR-V with 97K on it for $500.  It's green and slow so I call it 'Turtle'.

When I'm not carrying much, I ride my BMW K1200S.

I had a offer from the dealership I bought my Tacoma from to trade it for a 19 4Runner. At first I was really considering it since the 4Runner was 2 years newer, and had 15k miles vs my 83k. They worded the offer email kinda deceiving or I just read it to fast. On one side of the email was all the details bout both vehicles and that they would give me $25k trade in for it and I could drive off with the 19 4Runner then is small print said “drive off for $19k”. My Taco is bought and paid for I owe nothing on it. I was considering the trade I like the 4Runners but I love my Taco then I noticed the to good to be true offer fine print. I was even thinking how bad could payments be but not having vehicle payments is nice and passed on the offer.

I’d say you did the right thing. By the time you paid the 4Runner off you’d likely have the same mileage as your Taco does now.

I want a Tacoma too!
