Super User TOXIC Posted August 10, 2022 Super User Posted August 10, 2022 So……….how would y’all fish these conditions???? Quote
InfantryMP Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 If I had to fish it, I would fish it really slow. Drop shot, or a slow moving 10in worm. Probably would not catch anything, but that is what I would throw I guess. Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted August 10, 2022 Super User Posted August 10, 2022 I'd probably trailer around to Duke's Creek for the next few weeks. 1 Quote
ironbjorn Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 I'd take a fork because we're boiling fish. Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted August 10, 2022 Global Moderator Posted August 10, 2022 I’ve fished water up to 95 degrees, fishes just like normal. The hard part is trying to handle the fish, their metabolism is racing in hot water Quote
Super User TOXIC Posted August 10, 2022 Author Super User Posted August 10, 2022 To be clear, I have no intention of fishing there. I have in the past when the surface temp was 105. It’s our winter haunt because of the warm temps. Usually stays above 55-60. When I did fish it in the summer we would almost exclusively fish the feeder creeks or the deepest holes in main pools. They can be caught. ? Quote

Super User Darth-Baiter Posted August 10, 2022 Super User Posted August 10, 2022 i'd fish the spawn in Dec-Jan. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 11, 2022 Global Moderator Posted August 11, 2022 Everything leaves the hotwater outlet here in the summer. That's where I discovered my depthfinder temp readout just starts flashing at 99.9*. Quote
Super User Koz Posted August 11, 2022 Super User Posted August 11, 2022 With a net, a lemon wedge, and some Tony Cachere’s seasoning. Quote
Super User scaleface Posted August 11, 2022 Super User Posted August 11, 2022 I have limited experience with hot water discharges . Its a current that cools down as it flows across the lake .This current went across the lake one to two hundred yards , into a cove then back out in the lake . Where the water left that cove is where I caught largemouth on worms . If I encounter it again I'm looking for cover , structure and any current breaks in the flow . Quote
Super User Darth-Baiter Posted August 11, 2022 Super User Posted August 11, 2022 there is one in NM. my brother said winter fishing is nuts. steamy and nuts. Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted August 11, 2022 Global Moderator Posted August 11, 2022 They quit discharging hot water at our steam plants after the Kingston disaster Quote
Super User Columbia Craw Posted August 12, 2022 Super User Posted August 12, 2022 The only lagoons I’ve fished are the waste water system out in the county. Quote
