I often use them around docks early in the day before the fish have gravitated completely underneath them. Fish frequently dart out after the spinnerbait bumps a post, beam, or weed.

Lol there’s always someone that just refuses to budge isn’t there? You could be hammering fish after fish and they are so stubborn that they’d rather not join in on the catching than cave into another tactic.

 

I think a fair amount of anglers switched to a chatterbait instead and stopped tossing spinnerbaits altogether. Now that the fish have seen enough chatterbaits, maybe a spinnerbait looks new again.
