Hook2Jaw Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 I always tell anyone in person looking for a rod that requires a lot of user input to invest their money in those sticks. That's why my jerkbait, topwater, frog, and pitching and flipping stick cost two to three times as much as some of my other rods. I need them to be light and balanced, I'm moving them often. 1 Quote

I might ask him to bring a pedestal next time for me. Learning how to properly utilize a pedestal seat was an absolute game changer for me as far as how my body feels after a long day on the water. I use it more as a third leg for support when I'm standing. It takes some of the weight off your legs and back and really makes a huge difference in choppy water. For years I rarely bothered with it because I used to try to sit on it and only last year realized they're better used as support. Even gives you something to put your hand on when a rogue wave or whatever comes along. Night and day difference in how I feel the next say. 2 1 Quote

Constantly snapping a rod can and does get tiring. Ya'll clearly have never done much muskie fishing either. Try slinging 15 inch lures with 8 foot heavy action rods for days on end without even a follow. Its extremely physically and mentally draining. 2 Quote

I’ve been on trips with buddies targeting Muskie, I’m usually catching white bass on a jig within a couple hours 1 Quote
