Super User Darth-Baiter Posted August 4, 2022 Super User Posted August 4, 2022 the Z-drop worm is my confidence bait by a mile. I've used it in a myriad of ways. (I caught a tank once fishing it as a tiny tex-rig) its a great small worm. for drop shot I only fish green pumpkin and a pink/purple worm. those two colors only. I really want to try the Z-drop worm in Morning dawn. it isn't even shown on their website anymore. I wondered if it is discontinued now, and asked them that question. I emailed them for the skinny. I did find 3 bags on Ebay, and figured a $20 bill is worth the risk to see if that color works on my local bass population. right now I use the 4.5" straight worm from Roboworm in Morning Dawn with or without flake and it is producing acceptable results. but I kinda think the z-drop just undulates better and more seductively underwater. I have dropped them both in the shallows and observed with my very human eyes, and came to this conclusion. how a bass sees this, is anyone's guess. lets see if my ebay bags show up, or I have to file a claim :D. whatever. my two worms exclusively for the drop-shot: Z-drop in green pumpkin Roboworm 4.5 straight in Morning dawn. MM3 if they are out. Quote

Super User TOXIC Posted August 4, 2022 Super User Posted August 4, 2022 Big surprise….Yamamoto Shad Shape Worm. So far I have only fished the original and have not tried the new larger version introduced at ICAST. 2 Quote
@reelChris Posted August 4, 2022 Posted August 4, 2022 Easily my favorite is a 6" roboworm in morning dawn. After that I like KVD dream shots in green pumpkin purple and in third place, watermelon seed zoom flukes. I'm not a fan of how delicate the dream shot and flukes are but they do produce. Am I the only one that can't get a bite on the maxscent flat worm even though the shape is basically the same as the dream shot?? Quote
Super User JustJames Posted August 4, 2022 Super User Posted August 4, 2022 You should try Z drop worm, green weenie. Quote

You must be rigging it wrong.I fish it nose hooked on a #4 Gamakatsu Octopus Circle Hook. Quote

Super User Choporoz Posted August 4, 2022 Super User Posted August 4, 2022 I am not yet trying to understand....because I am pretty dismissive of most color discussions....but I seem to get a LOT more Maxscent Flatworm bites with the mango color, than with other, especially the black/gray. Even though the lakes I use it are full of shad that look (to me) more gray than orange. Quote
Super User MassYak85 Posted August 4, 2022 Super User Posted August 4, 2022 Roboworm in a GP chartreuse is a go-to for me. I like to rig them weedless on a size 1 or 2 straight shank worm hook and drag them through deep weedlines. Quote
Super User GaryH Posted August 4, 2022 Super User Posted August 4, 2022 Maxscent flatworm green pumpkin or Zoom finesse green pumpkin Quote
Super User Bird Posted August 4, 2022 Super User Posted August 4, 2022 This year it's been 6" Roboworm in morning Dawn but previous years it was Aaron's magic. Idk 1 Quote

Super User king fisher Posted August 4, 2022 Super User Posted August 4, 2022 7 inch Senko, Wacky rigged, June bug if I can find them, Black blue flake if I run out of June bug. Fishing this way may be classified as sacrilegious to many, but you northern fineness fisherman can't sick the bass police on me, because they have no jurisdiction south of the boarder. what happens in Mexico, stays in Mexico. 1 1 Quote

Doodle worm, it’s easy to shorten and split the tail with a safety razor. Tom PS, I use the same worms for slip shot, except the 4.8 Flick Shake. 9 minutes ago, king fisher said: 7 inch Senko, Wacky rigged, June bug if I can find them, Black blue flake if I run out of June bug. Way north bass guy Posted August 5, 2022 Posted August 5, 2022 Pretty much a tie between the Maxscent flatworm, and Maxscent Flatnose minnow. Several different colours seem to work for me, and I’ve also had some success with a Maxscent general rigged wacky on a drop shot, but I haven’t used that as much as the other ones. Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted August 5, 2022 Super User Posted August 5, 2022 4 and 6 " Roboworms in various colors, but grape MD, and MM, seem to work the best, although I've caught some nice bass on the Hologram shad pattern. Quote
Super User islandbass Posted August 5, 2022 Super User Posted August 5, 2022 For me, it is the sniper snub but they are no longer made. 3” senkos roboworms french fry worms I am willing to drop shot just about anything, lol. Quote
padon Posted August 5, 2022 Posted August 5, 2022 roboworms several different colors. xzone finesse worm , the tail floats better. xzone slammer for a minnow style bait. Quote

WVU-SCPA Posted August 5, 2022 Posted August 5, 2022 For those that use the flat worm, also check out the 5" hit worm for a bigger profile. In a lake infested with white perch, they aren't inclined to hit it as much as they do a flat worm. Quote
