I don't think any Megadeth album is good. Really "Hello me it's me again" as a lyric LOL The last time I enjoyed them was the day I saw them. It was Savatage/Megadeth/Dio ticket.

The one band I won't turn off is Black Sabbath. First album I ever bought(maybe stole, I don't remember) was Paranoid.

I listen to all sorts of stuff now. I get my 5yo grandson in the truck and we have to listen to "Rock and Roll!" His idea of rock and roll is Pantera which is fine with me. Picture a 5yo playing air guitar in his car seat.

He's the hippie kid and I'm the old bald guy

Yeah, MD is certainly an acquired taste. I've heard Mustaine described as the Bod Dylan of metal. Writes good songs, but can't sing them. But he's better that any guitarists in any of the other Big 4 bands, and the other guitarist currently in the band is better than him. IDK, they embody thrash to me. I still listen to all the old bands. I like some more modern bands like A7X, Five Finger Death Punch, Volbeat, etc. I'm still stuck on Deep Purple, Rainbow, UFO, etc. I even like a few hair metal bands, mostly the bluesy ones.I saw Metallica and Greta Van Fleet last October with my daughter and we have tickets to GVF again this October.

Paranoid was either my first or second album I purchased {cassette}. It was several years old at the time . I think the first contemporary album I purchased was Black Sabbath vol.4 .

I can't tell the difference between heavy metal and rap, they both sound just

like "noise" to me.

I can understand why some people don’t like both metal and rap or one of them, but I respect artists from both. I can’t say that Kendrick Lamar or J.Cole just produce noise because I know better. And TOOL? Sometimes it seems like they are on another planet

Long as you understand that I can't stand country.

Oh - and I don't like rap either.

I understand that one too! It's what I grew up with but I listen to it a lot less nowadays. When it comes to favorite bands that I listen to nowadays, the closest I get to country is Whiskey Myers but I love them.

Enjoy some types of metal - concerts include Iron Maiden, Megadeath, Metallica, and Queensryche. Non-concert bands I also enjoy  Dio, Sabbaton, Flotsam & Jetsam, British Lion, and some Slayer. Plan on seeing Maiden in South Dakota soon.

Maiden concert was awesome last night! Bruce and the Boys put on an amazing show - great energy, set design creative, and vocals tight. Good energy from the SD crowd.

Really cool. Wish I was there to see it too!

Much different than Maiden… I am digesting Slipknot’s 7th album recently released. Like some aspects… dislike some… overall so far I am not wholly disappointed. It’s heavy!

Man, all these names bring back some fond memories. Except the country ones. And the rap ones. ? Think I’ll do some fishing listening to A7X, 5FDP, Metallica, etc today.

YES...another convert!

They're only in the states through the end of this month...but next year kicks off a new tour with Evanescence, and in an IG chat with Amy and Sharon, they both indicated they'd like to do a collaboration.

Oh it was a good one.

Two 'local' groups opened

Plague of Stars - out of Madison, WI. Death metal, which I'm not a fan of, but they were technically proficient.

AfterTime - Symphonic Metal from Minneapolis. Very good group, lead singer has a great voice...this is one I'm gonna follow.

Sharon, of course, was perfect and the guys hit everything right on the button.

Oh, and the Evanescense/WT "Worlds Collide Tour" starts in Europe in November...so not long after finishing the NA leg of the "Legacy of the Beast" tour with Iron Maiden.
