I bought a Garmin "smart" watch.  I wear it when I am fishing new waters and kinda want to track my mileage.  (now Navionic App does the same thing)

but 99% of the time, I wear my beater.  my wife (girlfriend) bought it for me 21 years ago.  I have had the band changed twice.  unavailable now, or very difficult to find, so if the band breaks again I assume it is game over.

I have my clock turned on with my fish finder, but I always look at my wrist for the time.  its handy to check tide-times and the "wife needs me home by" time.  this WATCH and my old Hewlett Packard HP48GX calculator are probably my best value possessions of all time.  I have some high end watches that I pull out occasionally, but I wear this one out of love.  hahha..

it is an old discontinued Casio Pathfinder 1300 or something.

I had one of them. It may still be around here somewhere.

Is this the band you need? I can usually find bands on Amazon.

No watch and no wife. Don't want either (I've had both). I don't even care what day it is a lot of the time, especially when fishing. I tune the world out as much as possible when I'm out.

My Timex Expedition broke about 3 years ago...haven't replaced it.

If I need to know what time it is, I'm never anywhere without my phone...

If I dress up for something and want a watch...I've got a 40 year old Rolex in my dresser.

I’m hard on watches… I usually get a cheap Walmart one, analog not digital. I had a fancy one with gps and all but didn’t use most of the features on it.
I’ve always liked to keep track of the time.

I’m not fanatic about it, or have to be exact, just like to know how long stuff takes.

My fishing watches are either a Bulova or my Green Bay Packers Invicta, a brand I never thought I would buy. I have worn a Timex Expedition as well that just needs a new battery, great watch and the light in the face is way better than the newer one my daughter boaught. I can't wear the walmart level dress watches because my skin destroys them quickly so I stick with the above that run similar or cheaper than the fancy smart watches that have a shelf life.

I don't think I could ever be without a watch, it is such a pain to pull out a phone to check the time, especially on the water.

I quit wearing watches soon after I started carrying a phone all the time.  I do use the clock on my Garmin when fishing, though.

This is pretty much the only one I use.  I have to get a new one about every 4-5 years because either the band breaks, the battery dies, or the buttons wear out.  The watches themselves aren't very expensive and its not worth fixing them, so I just buy a new one.  They are pretty durable though.

I really only use my phone when on the water to take photos...so some days it doesn't even get used!  I have worn a watch for as long as I can remember and if I didn't have one I'd feel strange without it.

Agreed. Part convenience, part habit. Seiko SKX with a dive strap since I didn't like metal bracelet scratching up the reel.

Yes, I did as well.

Got tired of pulling phone out of my pocket to check time...and dropped it a few times...so started wearing an old watch ~7 years ago.

Considered a smart-watch that linked to my phone...but noticed how the smart-watches lost battery quickly, and the technology kept changing so fast...always seemed to be a newer version out every year. And my eyes were having trouble focusing on the small fonts. So I just kept wearing my old watch.

Wife surprised me with a fantastic wedding gift -- Tag-Hauer watch. Love it!

Black face, easy to read, battery lasts 4+ years, dive watch, so it's water proof to 30m. I wear it every day.  Don't wear fishing or hunting. I expect it will outlast me.

Like @Fishingmickey, I wore a Casio G-Shock for years as they will take a beating and keep working. The day I retired was the last day that I ever wore a watch. I couldn't even tell you where my old one is or if I still have it.

I have one of these:

Simple, cheap and they offer it in a few styles. Found mine at Walmart for about $20.00 8 or so years ago. Just had to replace the battery and band within the last 6 months. First time the battery needed replaced. Been a nice everyday/beater watch.

I wear an apple watch.  Its still a generation 2 and 5 years old now.  I'll replace it when it finally dies.  I wear it pretty much every day, fishing or not.  Its fully waterproof and can take a beating.  I like it for fishing because when someone messages me, I can see what it is on my watch and know if its important.  Sure, I'd love to say that every time I'm fishing I am unreachable.  That's hardly ever the case though so not pulling out a phone all the time is nice.  if I really want to I can reply to messages or even take a quick call from my watch.  I get weather alerts if there is a sudden storm coming (which is nice to get your rain jacket on before its too late).  And yeah, it tells the time too.  So does my fish finder though so if I have to be back by a certain time I can just look in that bottom left corner.

I look at the time on my phone. I don't like wearing a watch.

I wear smart watches, I have two series 3 Apple watches and a Amazfit GTS 2 mini. As much as I love the Apple watches the battery life isnt great and the reason I bought a second one so I always have one charged and ready. The Amazfit is about as good as an Apple watch but the battery life is wonderful, usually charge it twice a month.

Watches are one of the things I collect.  So I have a bunch that I'll cycle between.  I got into them when everyone else was getting out of them when cell phones started to take over.  Before Apple came out with their watch, I just enjoyed being one of the few people who still wore a watch.  I still enjoy being able to glance at the time without having to dig in my pocket.  Plus, I appreciate the workmanship, history, and philosophy of timepieces.  They're one of the most important and oldest inventions of our species.

I've got a fancy kinetic watch around here somewhere that I haven't worn in years. Wrestling cows,  working on tractors, and pulling with barbwire destroys everything, especially watches. My fishing watch below, $3600.

That's what I wear too.  When it wears out, I buy a new one.  They cost about 40 bucks.  Mine last about 4-5 years.

Current model is the Ironman.

I quit wearing one when I got a cell phone then my daughter bought me an Apple Watch that I wear maybe once a week.  When I'm fishing there are clocks on each locator.
