DaubsNU1 Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 Local lake today. Yes, that's a trolling motor and battery. I'm going to say, "nope." 2 Quote
Super User GaryH Posted July 30, 2022 Super User Posted July 30, 2022 That’s a lot of beef and water displacement right there. Hope there’s not power boats in the area. One wake and their sunk. 2 1 Quote

Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted July 31, 2022 Global Moderator Posted July 31, 2022 Low freeboard!!!! That’s the reason I ditched my trolling motor and battery on my small river boat and went with oars and oar locks . My friends pointed it out to me after they took this photo. Granted I was solo and had the back loaded down, but it’s really not hard to paddle that boat. Trolling motor didn’t give that much of an advantage versus the weight of the battery. I’ve taken waves from cabin cruisers in that boat since I was born, it’s never even splashed in Quote
Super User Darth-Baiter Posted July 31, 2022 Super User Posted July 31, 2022 That’s frightening. A hard turn could swamp them. And I need an ice chest like that. i hope they caught fish safely. Sheesh. Quote
