If not its you whom needs to tell the dr or therapist that you want an mri, its your body your choice. Therapists need to make money so they may just string you along without knowing what the structure of your shoulder joint looks like. This probably needs to be said to provide context. I’m military and have a process for medical care that I am somewhat still learning and am cooperating with. 3 Quote

Past couple months have been an exercise in teaching me to make smarter decisions and take ownership. Moral of the story has been that everything I do matters. Good lessons for me 2 Quote

Last thing they’ll want to do is surgery unless there’s no other alternative. Messed up my left sacroiliac in AIT a bazillion years ago and was told that PT would be the best course of treatment with surgery a last resort. It got better but still bugs me occasionally even now. But, this was back in the 80s and medicine has advanced leaps and bounds since then. No more burning incense and chanting. ? 2 Quote
Super User LrgmouthShad Posted November 10, 2022 Author Super User Posted November 10, 2022 At this time I’d like to say that the break has ceased. I feel able to fish when I want and how I want, but not necessarily for as long as I used to or through the same means (bank instead of kayak). Household chores bother me a lot less, I can cast fine, can perform moderate upper body exercises, overall pain has lessened. Shoulder group - sorta involving the back as well - is significantly stronger. The next thing to look forward to will be kayaking and a return to full lifting. Both might be a ways out still but at least I’m on my feet Only bad thing is the timing of my healing… we have some nasty cold weather coming that will freeze up the ponds around here. 8 Quote
ScottW Posted November 10, 2022 Posted November 10, 2022 Glad to hear you’re on the mend @LrgmouthShad! Slow is smooth and smooth is fast so one day at a time and before you know it you’ll be back to full strength. ? 1 Quote
