Storm Sub Wart.  I always carry it in my tackle bag in case the bass won't bite anything else.  It's basically my weapon of last resort.

Love the jointed Rapalas. Those, Mepps, countdown minnow, Cotton Cordell Big O all get bit.

My biggest complaint is that they don't cast that far and need better hooks usually. Get bit as well as anything new and shiny though.

Yeah I noticed with the jointed rapala I was getting a lot less distance than most other plugs I usually throw in this particular lake. Thought there was something wrong with my reel or line and then remembered oh yeah, this thing helicopters a bit. I switched to a smoother casting motion to keep the bait more aerodynamic and that helped. I did switch to a MG jerkbait at one point to reach breaking fish beyond where the Rapala couldn’t reach and I did get a few extra fish that way. So there you go—one benefit of some of the newer lures is weight-forward transfer system.

I have 5 of them left.  Four in my tackle box, and another one unopened in original packaging.  It is my lure of choice for brown bass in a small river (which I will be fishing tomorrow, ironically).
