We all have fears. Most guys don't like to admit it. One thing I'm honestly afraid of is crawling in old crawl spaces under old houses. I've done it many times, and never liked it.  I'm always wondering what's in there?                                I always liked this quote from  civil war general Thomas Stonewall Jackson.         " Never take council of your fears".                                        It means that we all have fears, just don't let them consume you.

Tight spaces ( caves) where I might get stuck, or the ceiling lets go. Burning to death ( I must have 15 smoke alarms and half a dozen fire extinguishers in the house.) Heights, I have vertigo.  And the last one is more of a concern, running out of money. My wife and I both had to leave the work force early due to disabilities. We're not poor, but not what I would call " well off". With everything costing so much , I worry for our future.

nothing gives me a crippling fear.  nothing like bugs or snakes.

i do freak out a tiny bit abnormally with sociopaths.  i cant interpret who is nuts, but i cant convince my mind that.   i've met some kids that make me wonder if there are dead pets buried in the yard, unexplained fires and the mattress is stained with urine.  :)  i should cancel all my television.

I'm fearful of losing a finger, a foot, a limb, or an eye (or both!).

Deathly afraid of being paralyzed.

Afraid of getting in an accident, and having uncontrollable pain for the rest of my life.

Afraid of addiction...I've never tried drugs of any kind. I do drink, but just a little.

All of the above are a result of seeing others experiences.

i take it back!!  i remembered one!  i am deathly afraid of tablesaws.  i cant even hear the sound as the saw ramps up.  i cut my thumb and gave the tool away, the next day.

I'm not a big fan of heights or flying, but I can tolerate both.

However -and I apologize if this offends anyone- I have a fear of crazy people. Like, actually insane people. I don't like their unpredictability.

As someone who has seen similar things devastate people's lives, it amazes me how much of life is dependent upon luck. Which is a little scary in itself, honestly.

What are you scared of ?

Being unprepared  . . . .

It's something that drives me.

Also Charles Lee "Chucky" Ray

Not sure if it's his size, the crazy eyes or the bad hair cut,

but that psychopathic half pint gets me every time !

Sketchy move.

I might take the GMC right over that boy and perhaps even drop it into reverse to finish the job.

Have a serious fear of heights...not crippling but d**n close. I have a lesser fear of needles...more specifically watching other people get poked with one. I'm fine with getting shots or an IV but seeing somebody get one weirds me out and makes my skin crawl.

I'm with you.  I don't fear death, but I do fear being messed up to the point I can't take care of myself.

I don't fly but consider it a choice more than fear.  When I was 6 I went flying with an Uncle in his small private plane.  I wasn't sure if I like it or not.  The next day he had engine problem and had to crash land.  (no injuries)  I decided then that I didn't "need" to fly.  9-11 reinforced that choice.

When I was a kid I was really scared of lightning and storms.  I used to like to play outside.  My parents would have to find me and force me to come inside during a storm.  They sit me down one day and told me how dangerous lightning was.  The next day my best friend from kindergarten, along with his Grandfather and dog were struck and killed by lightning.  I was deathly afraid of storms for many years after that.

I don't really fear lightning now, but I still respect it.  If I hear thunder, or see lightning on a lake I'm headed back to the landing as quick as I can.

I was outside pumping gas about 5 minutes ago and I had to be dangerously close to getting stuck by lightning twice in the amount of time it took to pump ten gallons. It felt like the fillings in my teeth fell out

Spiders, not all, but close.

Heights anything over about 10'. Which sucks when you love to hike. It really gets in the way when you visit places like Zion, or The Grand Canyon.

Heavy traffic. I would rather drive in it than be a passenger but I dont like either

Near La Guardia airport around Thanksgiving was the most insane traffic I’ve been in. You simply had to impose your will on people constantly. That was one time I was seriously uncomfortable driving. Some girl looking at her phone lightly rear-ended me at a stoplight too. No damage to the truck.

Zion

Zion has a hike called Angel’s Landing. I was young and simply would not do the last part of it because of how scary it was to me. If I could, I’d go back in time and slap myself and talk some sense into younger me.

I have a very healthy respect for my table saw. Ripping a big piece of plywood always has me on edge. Getting some quality push blocks helps.

As I get older, I've made peace with most things in my life and I don't fear death. But I did see my own father suffer with a lot of medical problems the last 5-7 years of his life and I refuse to go through that.
