Ive used the rage bug for a while and it has been a very productive lure for me. I have never used a craw style bait and was wondering if I should pick a few up. I usually fish pretty clear water lakes with a decent amount of eel grass, im not sure how deep. Should I try a rage craw out? Ive never caught a fish on a craw style bait so I tend to shy away from it.

Yes and while you're at it pick up a few of the Rage Menace as well.

Just a slightly 'different' action that plays well in several scenarios.

And if you're looking for a perhaps 'plus size' offering in these,

the Magnum Rage Bug, Rage Lobster and the Magnum Menace fit that bill.

btw I'm a big Rage fan ~ If you couldn't already tell.

Good Luck

Pretty much what I was going to say.  I do have all Rage on sale 15% or more off right now.

Texas Rigged Craws & Bugs are highly overlooked presentations.

As the water warms I like to run the craw  instead of the bug.  And while you’re ordering, get a package of Space Monkeys.  Yes, the lowly unheralded Space Monkey.  The General Omar Bradley of creature baits.

With absolutely no idea as to the reason why, for me some days the craws don't work and the bugs do, and vice versa. FWIW, from my observations the craws have more action. I use both sizes of craws and the 2 smaller sizes of the bugs.

If you catch them on bugs, there is no reason to shy away from craws…they are not that different.  I use Rage Bugs more often because they skip better.

I have found craw style baits to be not only very effective by themselves, but also fairly versatile more often than not. Lots of the ones available can be used not only as stand alone baits, but as trailers for jigs, swim jigs, spinnerbaits chatterbaits etc cutting down on the number of soft plastics you have to lug along on a given trip, definitely worth picking up.
