Shakey head in grassy clear lakes

I am interested into getting into more finesse shakey head fishing. My lake is pretty clear but has deep submerged vegetation. I fish from the shore and cant figure out where the grass patch starts and ends and Im not too sure how high the grass gets. Is a shakey head good for grassy lakes? or should I shy away from it. Thanks

IMO, it depends on the 'grass'  A light weight jig and worm combo won't penetrate thick milfoil or coontail which is beneficial if that vegetation has plenty of water above it. Count down until your line goes slack, that'll tell you how much open water there is above it. Popping it off the tops and letting it fall back will pull active fish up out of the weeds.  Pond weed and other grasses, I'd personally shy away from using it. A T-rigged, weightless Senko would be my choice.
