Super User Choporoz Posted July 28, 2022 Super User Posted July 28, 2022 I think we got wrapped around the a semantics axel. Putting aside the 'junk', I disagree with your premise that discovering and refining a pattern is hard (er?) from a kayak. (The example above is a pretty extreme hypothetical: all catchable fish are on southwest corner of docks facing south on inside points. But all those docks are across the lake.....) Expand your mind's eye and apply aspects of what you learned from that dock corner to other areas. Patterning is one thing. Putting all the targeted bass in a tiny box is something different, in my opinion. Quote

This is exactly my point. Kayak fishing limits your ability to pattern fish whereas fishing from a bass boat doesn't. Don't get me wrong, I love fishing from my kayak. But I also acknowledge its drawbacks; this being one of them. Quote

Dude find a lake that doesn't suck. That pretty much is NOT the norm. I've definitely not encountered it. 1 Quote

Clearlake is getting shallow. i crept my kayak in agmongst the boats. fishing was tough. i saw carp tearing up water near shore. i went to them and hit shallow water and noted it was getting deeper where the carp orgy was. i found bass with the carp!! i imagine they were eating food stuff stirred up by the carp? the bass boats couldnt get to where i was. we all fish the way we can, but that doenst make it junk fishing.not to me. 1 Quote
