There are both great baits and fish catchers for sure. The last few years I’ve been pitching the D bomb pretty much exclusively while still banging the hell out of the bass, and it’s definitely more durable which adds up to more$ in my wallet.

It's easy for me, the Rage Bug catches fish and the D Bomb doesn't. No idea why but I can put a D Bomb in all the fish holding places in the world and they don't touch it, but switch to a Rage Bug or one of my other favorite beaver baits and I'm back in business.

*I much prefer the Rage Bug - it's more versatile plus I don't like the ridges covering the D-Bomb body/

If you like the durability of the D-bomb, try the palmetto bug from Z-man.  Its elaztech so you know what that durability is like.  Once you get used to dealing with Elaztech I find they are my baseline pitching bug.  4/0 straight flipping hook snelled.  They stand up off the bottom just asking to be eaten.

I fish the Rage Bug a lot and is probably one of my top producing baits. Only bait that gets me more fish is the Z-Craw.  I usually alternate between these two, if one isn't working the other one will.

Tried the D-bomb and don't have much confidence in the bait. I know it works, just hasn't worked for me.

Personally, I think most of the Rage baits are better than most of the others.  I use the Rage Bug a lot, but the 4" Rage Craw is my favorite and most productive soft plastic.
