I'm on the fence with either said reel. I looked at the spechs and both are close to being similar with the Chronarch MGL having 8 bearings versus 6 bearings on the Curado MGL.

I'm trying to justify if the $90 price difference from the Curado MGL ($199) Or the Chronarch MGL ($289) is worth the jump.

There's quite a bit of difference between the two, I like my Chronarch a lot but for the money you cannot go wrong with the Curado 150 MGL with aluminum frame, new 6 pin SVS and palms better than the Chronarch.

The Curado 150 MGL palms better than the Chronarck 150 MGL? Also I was surprised to see 6 pin SVS instead of the 4 pin SVS like on the Curado 200K or on the Curado 70 MGL.

Yeah the Chronarch MGL is a long reel. Still nice in the hand though. Never had a Curado MGL but Chronarchs are BUTTER if the reel length doesn’t bother you

I would go with the curado 150 mgl. Its a nice reel.

The chronarch mgl is a nice reel too, but I didn't like the way it palmed.

The curado 150 does palm better.

Plus the chronarch is several years old. A new model will probably come out soon, I bet.

I don't have the Chronarch MGL, but I can attest to how much I like the Curado MGL 151 I bought. I wanted something to cast small shallow crankbaits or poppers on a Dobyns Champion 704cb.

Love it! It palms nicely as mentuoned above and throws light 1/4oz poppers and cranks very well. I don't honestly know how much better the Chronarch could be. My guess is the law of diminishing returns applies here.

Besides,.. As Mrpao said above,.. There will likely be a new model of the Chronarch coming out soon so you can also buy the current model on closeout when that happens and have both!! ?

It's not by much, if anything. However, it fits the hand differently, so someone might prefer one over the other because of frame ergonomics.

Makes sense! People would then have to decide if feel is $90 better, or wait for a sale or used option to reduce the price difference.

I have a Chronarch Mgl and it’s a nice reel, but you can buy a JDM Metanium for less than what the Chronarch costs.

Yup. The other day someone was asking about a super high gear ratio option Chronarch for his father. It fits his hand quite well and he doesn't want anything else, or nothing else he's held so far has pleased him as much.

So what was he asking about then? Sounds like he already knew what he wanted?

Not trying to hijack or question,.. Just genuinely curious since it sounds like he knew he wanted the Chronarch.

He was interested in finding out if there was a super high gear ratio Chronarch available in the JDM market. Nothing like that is available here. His father has several Chronarchs in stock gear ratios already, but wanted to add another in something quite a bit faster.
