RipHair Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 I bought a bunch of rage toads and shads and they are in a hard plastic mold but horny toads aren't and I'm wondering if I can lose some rigidity in my money bag by just sticking the toads in the bag loose? Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted July 19, 2022 Super User Posted July 19, 2022 I use a bunch of Rage baits. Including but perhaps not limited to Craws, Bugs, Menace, Toads and swimmers. A few of the less used colors are stored in the original pack, but the vast majority of them I remove and store in qt size zip lock freezer bags; which are grouped by type in Plano speed bags. (Swimmers go in a plano 3700 box that's stored flat.) Multiple packs of baits/colors used the most, fit nicely. Never have a problem with them running caddywompus. Can't tell the difference between baits stored either way. A-Jay 4 Quote

And everyone that reads this statement knows the exact definition of that word in how it applies to how a plastic sometimes runs. Well said, A-Jay. 1 1 1 Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted July 19, 2022 Super User Posted July 19, 2022 ^+1 I got lots of swimbaits with crooked tails and non-SKRT worms and creatures of bled colors and whacked, creased shapes. But the Rage Stuff can be balled up in a pocket for weeks, or mashed between trays and crates and still fish like a champ. 2 Quote
papajoe222 Posted July 20, 2022 Posted July 20, 2022 I keep all my RageTails in their original packaging. A Flambeau Half Satchel holds the ones I keep in the boat with me and the others have a place on my pegboard. I'll take a couple in a plastic bag for a quick trip to a pond, however. Steve had a fit when StrikeKing packaged the first run of RageTails in a plastic bag and went as far as paying for the tooling of plastic packaging for them. I figured if he's that fanatical about the packaging, I'll follow his lead. 2 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted July 20, 2022 Super User Posted July 20, 2022 Keeping the baits in their packaging will assure you of perfect baits, the way they were designed. 1 Quote
Super User gim Posted July 20, 2022 Super User Posted July 20, 2022 I keep mine in the original packaging too. Quote
jbmaine Posted July 20, 2022 Posted July 20, 2022 I keep mine in the original packages. Probably doesn't matter, but why take the chance. Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted July 20, 2022 Super User Posted July 20, 2022 I take the chance because I use a variety of SKRT baits, and I can carry a much bigger selection (variety) in my kayak in ziplocs than I could if I tried to keep them all in their original packaging. Toads are a great example. I carry a couple toads using about a tenth of the space I would if felt I had to always keep them in the clam shells. Same with Rage Swimmers, Bugs, and Rage craws. Quote
RipHair Posted July 20, 2022 Author Posted July 20, 2022 I figured the clamshell had a specific reason if they went through all the trouble to make it but it is a bit annoying having a bunch of these in my money bag. I removed the clamshell from one of my rage toads bags and will see if it has any effect over time. Just a bit curious though why the rage brand would need it but the horny toads doesn't? Quote
Super User J Francho Posted July 20, 2022 Super User Posted July 20, 2022 I keep all my Ragetail baits in the clam shell. Those all go in a speed bag. Quote
