Anyone know where i can get some good clip on glasses. I'm red/green color blind as was told to get green tinted ones and i will be able to  see under the water better. I've tried three pairs of walmart ones so far and they're all the same.

I'm not paying $200 for some hyped up pair at BPS or that tackle website without some assurance it will help.

Big old people style wrap around with side shades would be best overall.

Heck last year i ran up on two submerged stumps and a mud bank.

Thanks

I've not had good success with clip-ons, glare being the biggest issue.

Assuming you wear prescription glasses, then prescription polarized sunglasses will out perform any other option.

The part you don't want to hear....... costly.

Yes, prescription. Gradient ones at that. I have to get another backup pair soon, i didn't think to ask that if you can get the tint changing ones polarized.

Thanks

If you don't mind wearing a sombrero pulled down low, the clip-ons may suffice for the time being.

But down the road definitely consider prescription, you won't regret it.

Find a sporting goods store that sells Cocoons, polarized glasses that fit over your existing glasses. They come in a variety of colors and you can try them on until you find a color that works best for your eyes. Cheaper than a pair of prescription Polaroid sunglasses. That’s what I use and am happy with them, have several pair with different shades.

Check out eyebuydirect  they carry Oakley and Rayban and usually have coupons for 50% off frames and 30% lenses. It took about 10 days to get the glasses I ordered and the Rx was spot-on.

I agree with the Rx sunglasses.  I wear glasses and occasionally wear clip-ons.  They present two problems.  First is the glare.  When the sun gets in between them, you're going to have glare.  There's not really a way around that.  Second is the added weight.  For me, it makes my glasses slide down my face easier, so I have to use a strap to keep them on.  The only time I wear them is when I hit the water before sunrise, as I don't want to carry two pairs of glasses with me in my kayak.  The wrap-around sunglasses will present the same problems, though maybe to a lesser extent depending on design.

Fitovers  or Cocoons would be a good choice as opposed to clip on.

Thanks to all, it greatly appreciated.

The glare thing...duhhh so that's it i never put any thought into it.

I looked on the Cocoon site and really liked the frames and there explanation. Around here only one place has them and they've always had the reputation of 300% more expensive.  When I'm in that part of the county I'll check them out.

Went to Walmart and to my surprise they had 3 racks of over the glasses sunglasses. I ask a female associate to pick out the green tinted ones (which wasn't many). I got a pair that has upper and lower ledges to block sunlight and wraps around. They actually look better than 1970s ones i was expecting.

They were $20.00 so I'll take that chance. If they work better I'll look into ordering the cocoons. I think they were Foster Grants but I'm not sure. They seemed polarized when looking at the lights but i forgot to look on the tab.

I have not noticed green clip ons but I have never shopped for them .I wear the clip-ons and they work ok until the sun angle comes in through the side . The next pair of scrips I am getting is going to be the ones that turn dark and polarized when exposed to uv rays . They will not be brown or green lens but that is not a big deal  . I have to wear scrips so that appears to be the best solution for me .

these wallmart ones work great driving, do a fair job at blocking the side sun, are polarized but i can still see the display on the truck and my phone. Which used to be impossible with clip ons. I just have to seat my prescription lenses into some flexible material around the sunglass lens. Yeah they are foster grants.

i hope to get out on the water late next week to see how they work.  I'll go to snakeheads lake MD.
