I imported a Shimano Stradic FL C2000SHG for drop-shotting smallies. It does the job really nice.

However I was wondering if I could buy a 2500 spool for it. I'd like to do some finesse swimbaiting 3 inch spark shads, and I don't really want to buy another spinning reel. I'd rather just swap spools back and forth.

I know a Shimano C2000 is a 1000 size reel body with a 2000 sized spool. Curious if anyone has tried putting a 2500 sized spool on a C2000 reel before.

In past models the 2500 spool would rub against the rotor of the smaller reels. It would be best to just get another 2000 size spool.

Only problem is you'd have to order it from Japan since the US doesn't have a 2000 size  stradic reel.

I might have some 2000 sized spools laying around from the original Stradic, Solstace, and a third silly name that escapes me at the moment, not sure if they would be compatible.

The USM market Stradic FL1000 is the JDM C2000SHG.

They're all S-27 spool, and a C2500SHG spool from another model will interchange in all the small frame reels, along with any other Shimano S-27 spool - @MSlammer from Yumeya catalog

there's only 2-mm radius difference and plenty of clearance for my '20 Twin Power C30000MHG medium frame spool to fit in my C2000S '19 Vanquish (and C1000S '19 Stradic) - I just tried it - but the pitch is different (S-20 spool)

In the case of the 2015 Stradic, it's also different.

The 2015 Stradic small frame is S-22 spool, and 2500S spool is S-23.

I hope this thing is on.

Yeah I got looking at Yumeya custom spools and they provided the diameter and stroke measurements for the 2000 and 2500 spools, and there's a difference between the two. I don't know why I thought a 2500 spool would fit a C2000.

I want something with a bit more line capacity, and all the JDM Stradics have shallow spools. I found a Yumeya custom spool C2000 F6, which has more capacity, but it's a bit pricey. It fits a 18-19 Stella, 19 Stradic and 19 Vanquish.

But spending 100 bucks plus shipping for a spool, I'd be just as far ahead to buy a 2500 Stradic domestic and be done with it.

I have the 19 Stradic, but this is handy. Where did you pull this part list from?
