hahahha..i once saw a meme.  it was a picture of the Sun on one side, and Earth on the other side.  there was a tiny tiny speck in between them.  there was an arrow pointing to the speck in between and a lable.  that lable said, Tennessee (hmmm, it might have been Lousiana) .    hahha..i assume it gets hot there?

I did pretty well, didn’t live above means and paid everything off. 
I retired last month at age 57, don’t miss it at all. 
my retirement gift to myself from myself was a fully tricked out, imo, Hobie PA 14

I got a pension at 49 , then started my own bussiness . I retired for good this year at 64 . I wouldnt mind part time employnent , as long as I enjoy it .

I guess I’m the odd cat.  I retired at 63 1/2 and had a financial plan that works.  Retirement is not what I expected.  My life is not dictated by my wants or wishes. It’s dis rated by the needs of my children, my grand children , my wife and especially my aging mother. Having a day where I’m not addressing family needs is very rare.  Also, I miss the folks I worked with.  More to retirement than just not being employed.

I can relate.  When I was working there was a million things I needed to do but didn’t have time to do.  I retired in April and now only have 999,974 thing left that I need to do.  ?

Best case scenario is that I can retire late next year after my youngest has gotten her four year degree and is out on her own.  Worst case is that I'll be working until I'm 65.  I'm really hoping for the first option.

Well, we’ve had record heat wave and drought conditions for about a month or more. The bite has practically shut down for me. Looks like some rain is finally coming end of this week & my money says the bite will turn on. All I keep thinking is…… I’ll be stuck at work. ??

retirement is different for everyone, when i hear media outlets talk about what is needed to retire i laugh. i retired 9 yrs ago, at 55 yrs old. and very glad i did. one thing is for sure , having a hobby like fishing is fantastic , a sport that doesnt require others to do. 

exercise, eating good, and the freedom gives you a peaceful life.

i bought a new boat knowing that i needed to stay busy. i have a old ,but well cared for travel trailer for trips in the mountains. if you have a simple life it doesn't really take that much.

health care was the biggest thing, and my wife received it with her retirement from the hospital she worked. It goes fast boys, the older you get the less you need and can do. 

Dont wait too long, pay off your home. the rest will take care of it self.
