I ordered new tubing, of course.

but I am headed to the California Delta tomorrow.  I dug out my old o-rings and rigged up a Senko.  all sideways hooking it.  I have a lot of o-rings so I ran two parallel.  my ham-hands are not conducive to crossing them.  sideways hook.  thinking back, I have taken a LOT of bass before it got into my head that the hook needs to be perpendicular to the worm.  I think I read about the perpendicular hook thing here. (thanks?)

bass clamps shut on my worm and I set the hook, it is piercing something (inside its mouth).  I forgot how easy the o-rings were.  no piercing of the silicone tubing and stuff.

I'll report back if I lose a giant :D  are we over thinking the orientation of the pointy end of the hook?

I buy a meter from Amazon.  probably a total rip off price wise, but it easy.

Yeah, but if you need it right away, it's there. Salt water tackle shops on the east coast have them in colors too for bluefish, striped bass, and cuda lures.

Heat shrink tubing.......any auto parts store or your local home improvement center/harbor freight.

I don't know if the hook orientation matters much. Kind of depends on how the bass strikes the worm I would imagine. It's anyone's guess if the bass hits it from the bottom, top, sideways, head on, etc. Just another one of the million variables that is fishing.
