I have zero need for these but the deal thread got me. They just came in.

Rod 1 - Tatula XT casting, 7’ MH FB (I don’t know what FB is but it’s a F action), 1/4 to 1oz lure, 10-20lb line.

Rod 2 - Tatula XT spinning, 7’3” MH Fast, 1/4-3/4 oz lure, 8-17lb line.

If I use for bass, what techniques would you guys use on them?

The other option is to put a Penn Battle II spinning reel I have on rod 2 with 20lb pp, 15lb fc leader, and get a Daiwa Coastal for rod 1 with 15 lb fc and have two setups for the few times I go to the coast for trout and reds. They would not see much use though.

What do y’all think?

Latest Sale Thread is what I believe he's referring to. In the tackle section

Cbump sorry I don't feel I'm much help in answering your question. Your first rod is like the universal baitcaster 7' MHF but you say you don't have much need for it. And I don't own a lot of spinning rods so don't have diverse applicatons for them. I dunno. The baitcaster is the same length and lure ratings as my jig rod - iRod 704C, so maybe jigs would be suitable with yours, I dunno. I also toss big worms or larger texas rigs on it.

MH/F casting (the 'B' stands for 'baitcasting') is pretty much the Swiss Army Knife of rods.

Bottom contact (jigs, T-Rigs, C-Rigs)

Moving baits (spinners, chatters, buzz)

Flip/Pitch into moderate or less weedgrowth

Weighted Soft swimbaits

Smaller Hard swimbaits - Bucca Gill and Bucca Shad come to mind immediately

There's probably others I've forgotten

While my arsenal has mostly one of each power/action in my rods...I DO have two MH/F casting rigs cause they're that versatile.

I have a MH/F spinning rig as well - mainly because I can't skip lures with a casting rig to save my life - so a 3000 reel on this and I can skip jigs, spinners, chatters, etc under docks/overhangs to my heart's content.

@Cbump

Rod 1 - Tatula XT casting, 7’ MH FB (I don’t know what FB is but it’s a F action), 1/4 to 1oz lure, 10-20lb line.  If using flouro.

I've used similar rods for larger than average jerkbaits or jerkbaiting over heavier grass.

Tight quarter/target casting various T-rigs, jigs, weedless paddletails

Rod 2 - Tatula XT spinning, 7’3” MH Fast, 1/4-3/4 oz lure, 8-17lb line.

I would do the same......20 # braid to leader. Heavier finesse, light/moderate t-rigs, heavier cover dropshot/power shots, weighted wacky rigs, heavier neko rigging, shakeyheads, finesse jigs, maybe medium/larger poppers and smaller walking baits.

The 7 foot mh bait caster can be used for all kings of stuff. Spinnerbaits , buzzbaits , crankbaits , Texas rigs , Spooks... Find the weight that it cast the best and stick with that .

Well I wish It was a H rather than MH but I picked up a new Fuego for $65 and going to put some 30-50lb braid on It and try to fish horny toads with the casting setup. We will see how It works. What do y’all think?

This is exactly what I’m going to use the spinning rod for. Skipping flukes under docks, finesse toads (z-man), heavier drop shots, etc.

I already had a spinning setup for that but It was a M Daiwa AirdX rod. I put that reel on this rod. The MH will be better for getting the fish away from the docks.

Now I need another reel to put on the M rod. Probably just use 10lb braid on It for backup DS, wacky finesse, Ned, etc.

Before I upped to a Dobyns Fury, I used a M/F Aird-X spinning rod for a number of things.

Wacky

Neko

Weightless plastics (flukes, worms, etc)

Shakey

Lipless cranks

Squarebills
