CAdeltaLipRipper Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Alright well some of you know that we recently bought a new ranger 185 vs. Well its about the prettiest boat i have ever seen i will have to post pictures sometime the boat is awesome.Well we bought it tuesday, but the guy wanted to put a new battery and stuff before he gave it to us,so we just got it today (Friday).Well we didnt notice it till now,But the Skeg below the propeller( if you dont know what im talking about look at the picture on the link i posted and you'll see a picture of one) was bent a little to the left at the very tip of the shark fin looking part. Should we be concerned about this?Like is it gonna cause riding problems or be a hazard or anything? thankss http://www.usedprop.com/images/skeg_pic_after.jpg Quote

Super User slonezp Posted August 7, 2010 Super User Posted August 7, 2010 Sledgehammer, oxyacetelyne torch, and some duct tape, you should be good to go. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted August 7, 2010 Super User Posted August 7, 2010 Skegs are cast aluminum, they break easily when beaten upon. A slight bend at the tip will not harm the motor or shaft. Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted August 7, 2010 Super User Posted August 7, 2010 If you don't feel any vibration while getting on plane or at wot don't worry about it. Quote
