that "favorite popper" thread got me bad.  BAD!!  Does not help that I might be getting addicted to a topwater bite badly.  right now, I can quit anytime. :)

You know, A St Croix Legend Extreme 6'8" M would be great for throwing those new poppers. Especially paired with a new Aldabaran MGL 50. Just sayin...?

Of all people, you should know that the bait monkey spares no man from temptation.  When you see an old basser walking at the ramp and he’s all hunched over,  it’s evidence he carried that little primate for decades. There is no relief from the monkey. It’s only a matter of when, and his bidding can not be ignored.

I post this again

Ive since learned, though, that @A-Jay is not the real bait monkey. Who controls the @bait__Monkey account? @roadwarrior maybe? Show yourself!

Bait monkey keeps telling me to buy chatterbaits again… to give them another try… still ain’t happened. I eat bait monkeys for breakfast. He might be convincing me to get other stuff but that’s not the point….

I have an order in my TW history with over 50 poppers, and most of them were Rico's, Yellow Magic etc, so unless he's got you that bad, your still not as bad off as it could be...

Monkey told me to show you what I caught on a chatterbait this morning 935906772_thumbnail(97).thumb.jpeg.6f2b60af5b4588b070f6254b74c81ec8.jpeg1143911211_thumbnail(96).thumb.jpeg.3a078064582f939dabd0f2f9b836492e.jpeg895436590_thumbnail(94).thumb.jpeg.14b8ecb1b2a23973fd7a6b881511bcf3.jpeg1195684749_thumbnail(93).thumb.jpeg.13b16efbad5bcdbd81e2770f15c54f35.jpeg187326186_thumbnail(95).thumb.jpeg.bd6c986030674c48d903d0655c694f69.jpeg

Most had it choked just like the LM. LM weighed 4-4. Caught a 4-8 the night before. Caught 4 eyes, biggest weighed 6-14. Dunno what that bruiser of a channel cat weighed. 12-13 maybe. + another dozen LM and had a few fish come off, including another big eye. Most between 4 and 5:30am. Got there at two and only had a few dinks by 4. Then the moon set over the treeline and it was MAYHEM!!! Saugeye and Jalepeno hushpuppies for supper tonight.

There was a time when the Bait Monkey only lived in Magazines and the Bass Pro Catalogue.  He was small but just as strong as he is now.  Then he found the internet and multiplied.  Now he is everywhere.  His whole family hangs out at UTube sites such as Tactical Bass'n.  AJ is not the Monkey, but looking at some of his tackle porn he posts on this site, I'm positive the Monkey lives in his garage.  The Monkey lived at my house for years, until I got married and my wife kicked him to the streets.  It was a sad day when my long time friend limped out of the house with a bloody nose.  Now he only comes in my house at Christmas, and my birthday.   He hasn't given up.  Every once in awhile he knocks on the door when my wife's car is gone, and tells me a member on this site highly recommends I try some expensive swimbaits.  I simply tell him I saw the post, but have to pay some bills.  I also tell him he will get more than a bloody nose if my wife catches him showing me pictures of DD bass caught on any bait costing more than 10 dollars.  He still hangs out across the street and I meet up with him once in awhile for a beer.

Awesome fish, seriously man. Still, I will take one of my custom Nichols spinnerbaits over 3 jackhammers. Bait monkey does not win this battle

Excellent suggestion!  I have that very rig except with a JDM Aldebaran MGL 30 and it’s brilliant.  You all should get one!  ?

I hear ya. I prefer a spinnerbait most of the time during the daylight hours myself. After dark the chatterbait is killer.

The monkey was singing a song in my ear a couple weeks ago. I recognized the melody from the Village People.  But the words were different.  Gavacho Gavacho, Gavacho frog..... wouldn’t you like to buy some. Gavacho Frogs?  Well red frog and true Gill look nice in my box and they walk nicely.

Bait monkey gave up on me years ago, although he calls every once in awhile just to say hi. Bfs he said. I told him no, I've got spinning rigs that work better. He hung - up on me!
