I picked up one of these to try a smaller Whopper Plopper. I added a split ring and swivel to keep the line twist at bay.

The problem I have with this lure, it spins when I reel it in. At medium speed reeling, it does spin. On much lower speed it for the most part stays level. But it's too slow to reel in that way.

If you happen to own the WP 60, have you done a mod to keep it from spinning? If so, care to share what you did?

The only thing that spins on mine is the tail. Not sure I understand your problem, if the lure is rotating as you retrieve I am guessing the tail is binding and not spinning.

^ Ditto - make sure the tail can spin free before casting. Both my 60s and 90s give me no issues despite others saying that they spin and twist line.

I have a 60 and a bunch of 90s and 110s. The bigger you go the less they spin. As mentioned, make sure there is no vegetation wrapped at the tail. If it's spinning freely, you can limit the spin by keeping your rod tip as high as possible when you start the retrieve on a long cast and by making shorter casts. I find the spinning stops when the line is off the water. The way I usually deal with it is to just use the 110 size.

The prop shaft my not be straight or it has some grass debris tangled around the shaft. Blow on the prop and see if spins freely.

this. I have to slow down a 90 a lot compared to a 110. Any little piece of grass kills a 90 prop it seems.

Just picked up 75, that spins on the retrieve.  Nothing bound up, only way to stop it is to reel painfully slow.  Never had that problem with the 110 or 130

The WP 60 I got in bluegill is brand new. I did some test casting at a lake and noticed the body would spin. There is no debris on the blade and the shaft is straight. I had issues with the 75 and 90 bodies spinning so I added a split ring and swivel. Doing this did not affect how the WP worked, so I did the same with the 60.

I tried today and wrapped a small amount of lead strip to the front treble hook and 1 suspend dot. No good still, it still spins.

The WP 60 is a dud in my opinion

I have given up on using them for this reason.  A tiny torpedo can have a 6' limb and entire grass bed hooked but still spins.
