Super User jbsoonerfan Posted July 10, 2022 Super User Posted July 10, 2022 We watched them today from the beach at Pensacola. Oh my, what a show!!!! I've never even seen anything like it. They had some "pre show" planes doing stunts and what not and I was pretty impressed, but when they took to the sky, I couldn't believe it. I'm sure it's nothing to them, but as just an average Joe, I was blown away. Major props to those guys!!! 8 Quote
Super User Deleted account Posted July 10, 2022 Super User Posted July 10, 2022 Unlike other flyers, ours don't aim high, our sights are properly set... 1 Quote
volzfan59 Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 I've seen the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds. That's some stuff I'll never forget. 1 Quote

Super User Koz Posted July 11, 2022 Super User Posted July 11, 2022 Years ago I was playing golf near Three Mile Island and the Blue Angels were practicing for one of their events. One pilot flew low and slow over the course, so low that he dipped a wing and waved at us. I swear, I could have hit a pitching wedge that high. Years later the Thunderbirds stayed at one of my hotels. Their show was canceled due to poor weather, but they gave me a nice signed print that I framed and I still have it today. Quote
Run2jeepn Posted July 12, 2022 Posted July 12, 2022 Always love Vacations at Fork Pickens. Good Fishing off their pier and get to see the Blue Angels fly by. They used to let you see them practice up close for Free, but I haven't tried since Covid started. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 12, 2022 Global Moderator Posted July 12, 2022 The Blue Angels and Thunderbirds were both here together for a show last year. It was a pretty amazing show. 1 Quote

We retired the Tomcats with VF-31, the last of the F14 squadrons out of Oceana. I'm a surface admin guy, NAVAIR is a different animal for sure. NAS Pax River is like my own private playground though, I live not too far north of there. 1 Quote

After 17 years In CA, Japan, and P.I., I retired out of AIMD Oceana in ‘01. I’m from Frederick, and wanted PAX for my last tour, but no joy. I was lucky to get anywhere East Coast. I continued to work at Oceana ‘til ‘04. We were probably there at the same time. The whole shebang has gone woke - no thanks. 1 Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted July 12, 2022 Super User Posted July 12, 2022 I see them nearly every year, although I only went to the actual show once.. They fly out of NAS Jax sometimes, which is app. 4 miles from my house. I get a free show. It doesn’t matter how many times I see them, it touches my heart somehow. I get a little emotional. Can’t fully explain it. Guess it’s American pride… 4 Quote
