spoonplugger1 Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 It looks like any other rod, I could show any of them and you wouldn't be the wiser, the lighter the build the more you worry about component weight. It has 2 mm running guides, silk wraps and minimal permagloss finish. Quote
Chris Catignani Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 Just like other rods...the length can vary. ...and now the BFS moniker has crossed over to spinning. Quote
KCFinesse Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 I went a little crazy with my 'finesse universe' rod (kinda cosmic bowling ish)... They're meant to be fun- have fun with it ?♂️ 3 Quote

spoonplugger1 Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 Where this originated in Japan they have always had both spinning and casting versions and they use them interchangibly as conditions warrant. This is stuff we were doing in the 80's, early 90's, we just didn't have the new reels, we had to modify reels ourselves. The blanks and components were always here. 1 Quote

NFC sb722 acid wrapped with chrome pack bay minima guides. I fish straight flouro with it so the minimas work for me. It makes for a good ned, extra light neko, and small keitech rod. I did a marbled silver 'Galaxy' with some green and purple flake between the fade wraps. Pictures don't capture all of it! Thanks! I like it. it's pretty ? -Jared 1 1 Quote

dave Posted October 30, 2022 Posted October 30, 2022 I've been dabbling with BFS and really enjoing it. I have a Scorpion BFS. I've been fishing it on a Kistler Helium 3, 7' ML and a Castaway Invicta II "The Donk" 6'7". I've been looking at a Major Craft Benkei, 6'7", with the Tackle Warehouse Black Friday Sale, the price would be unbeatable. I have a few and am a big fan of acid wrapped rods. I have a guy that has built a few rods for me and another I've been talking about a build. (both are excellent builders that acid wrap as a rule) but, neither are familiar enough with BFS. I would be very interested in having one of you build me a BFS rod. Although the rods posted here are beautiful, I am a minimalist when it comes to rod builds. Accent it with red to compliment my Scorpion, that is all I would ask. Talk to me. PM me... (before the Black Friday Sale...LOL) Quote
wisconsin heat Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 CRB color series black, 6’ L fast action. spiral wrapped micro guides, split grip w/ exposed blank section on reel seat. Paired with a T3 1016h with bfs spool- 8lb Jbraid usually pair with 4lb mono leader. Great stick for trout, can cast. 1/16 spinner really comfortably and absolutely bombs an 1/8 spinner with great control. 2 Quote

Guides don't have to be that big, though. Have you tried Fuji KR6, then KB/KT to the end? Arowana titanium tiptop. Quote

Ive really got to where I dont like these even on regular builds and have started using the lighter version or I’m back to using clnag/clag Quote

As I posted in another string, I've never had a micro guide failure on spin or cast. On cast I use the Fuji RV6 then KB/KT 5's to the tip. On a light power blank like BFS I recommend titanium guides and tiptop to retain as fast a recovery speed as possible. 1 Quote
