YakOrBank Posted July 8, 2022 Posted July 8, 2022 Ladies and gentlemen I am in search of knowledge. Curious to know of peoples approach to deep water. Now that being said, the 20-30+ Foot depth is a mystery to me. Trying to expand my ability offshore. Tossing wacky rigs up under docks and around shallow cover lands me a good deal of my fish currently. Would anyone would be kind enough to tell me then When/Where/why? Of deeper water fishing, time of year?,tempature, hours and baits you would use for getting A bite. thanks - Mike. 1 Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted July 8, 2022 Super User Posted July 8, 2022 When I go deep (over 30’) it is with a jig or spoon. I’m normally fishing points, bluffs or bluff ends. Spoons I vertical jig at what ever depth I want. With jigs I like to have the boat in 50’ of water casting to more shallow and working it back. The under 30’ depths get jigs, shaky, tubes or Trigs. 1 Quote
