DaubsNU1 Posted July 7, 2022 Posted July 7, 2022 Buddy from Texas pretty much taught me how to bass fish when we lived and worked in NE Missouri in the 1990's. Spinner baits, jig-n-pigs, t-rigged worms, Slug-Go...those were our staples. We caught fish. I learned a lot from that man! I was out of the game for 18+ years while my daughters grew up, played sports, went to school, moved a few times. Got back in to fishing a few years ago and found this site...and all the new-to-me lures and techniques (Senko, NED, squarebill, drop shot, shakey head, etc.). This spring I decided to go back, and concentrate on some of my old school lures....and they have been producing! Some very nice 2-3lb bass on spinnerbaits, and some nice 4-5lb bass on jig-n-craws. What is your old school lure / technique of choice?? 2 Quote

Yea, for some stupid reason I stopped throwing them...I'm glad they are back in my arsenal. Easy to fish when the wind picks up and I need to work the trolling motor to stay on fish. Quote
Dreveal Posted July 7, 2022 Posted July 7, 2022 4" Berkeley Power worm. Motor oil color. Used to fish them every time I went out. Haven't fished them for years until this year. They still flat out catch fish 4 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted July 7, 2022 Super User Posted July 7, 2022 Senkos have been around for almost 25 years, lol. For me, spinnerbaits, poppers, and spook type baits. 4 Quote
Super User gim Posted July 7, 2022 Super User Posted July 7, 2022 I have been doing pretty well with a spinnerbait this season. Nothing that big, but good numbers lately. I never really stopped using them, but I think a fair amount of anglers did and use chatterbaits instead. I will also say that the conditions lately have been conducive for a spinnerbait. Its been cloudy/rainy with a decent chop on the water my last 3 outings. 1 Quote

I throw bladed jigs but never stopped throwing the spinners. 1 Quote
