Super User MN Fisher Posted July 6, 2022 Super User Posted July 6, 2022 Old reliable Zara Spook (Zara Puppy for finesse topwater, Super Spook for targeting big girls) 6 Quote
fin Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 Dang, it’s only been a week or so since the last walking bait thread. lol. If I had to choose just one, I prefer the Sexy Dawg Jr., but I’d rather have a variety. They all walk, but they can look very different. A Heddon Spit'n Image, for example, has a much tighter circle and bobs a lot more. It’s a totally different look from the Sexy Dawg Jr. I just got a TWS from Academy that’s very similar to the Sexy Dawg Jr., much cheaper, walks almost as good, buy they don’t have as good a color choice. Spooks are great, all sizes. 5 hours ago, Revival said: Yozuri Pencil I was looking at those in the store the other day. Very tempting colors, like all Yo-zuri stuff. Do those cast well? They have ribs, and I've found ribs cut down on casting distance. Quote

CountryboyinDC Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 Vixens (which I don't even have 1 anymore) and Super Spook Jr. And Zara Puppies for shallower water (I cut off the hooks and put on split rings and hooks for the Puppies). Still looking for a Vixen replacement - Rovers and Sexy Dawgs ain't it, that much I can say. Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted July 6, 2022 Global Moderator Posted July 6, 2022 I tried most one time or another and always come back to the Super Spook Mike Quote

Super User Deleted account Posted July 6, 2022 Super User Posted July 6, 2022 The older silent Zara Spook, and the slightly smaller Super Spook Jr one knocker, but most walkers will work well when they are on it, if one knows how to get the action the fish want on a given day. Quote

Frezzy Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 Sammy 115 is my favorite. Walks easy and casts a freakin' mile. Brown and Green bass love it. I fish clear water and LC has the best ghost/translucent paint jobs on natural color spooks. Any decent spook will catch fish though. Just pick the one you like and fish it. Quote
Super User the reel ess Posted July 6, 2022 Super User Posted July 6, 2022 Super Spook, Jr. But fish have a tendency to strike a walking bait where it was and not where it is. I bought a Livingston Walking boss (original, not the II model) that emits sounds. I have yet to get a bite on it. The smaller baits get twice as many bites, in my experience. I caught a 5.6 lb on a Spook, Jr last summer. 1 Quote
