I have had my DC reel for about 5 months now and I have it on an ALX Solo Deputy with 17lb fluoro.  I does it job very well but I just think its on the heavy side especially when I switch to my Tatula CT Type R or Zillion.  I want something that performs like that but lighter.  Maybe its the rod that is making it feel heavy.  Any thoughts would help, thanks.

Swap out your rod. I don't think my DC is heavy at all, especially compared to my old Lew's rods and reels. My writs and hands got tired easily with those.

I have my DC paired with an Expride. I could fish that all day and all night and it would not feel heavy.

At nearly eight ounces, it's fairly heavy for a largemouth bass reel.

I have 2 ALX Zolo Deputy rods.  Rod is 4.3oz. It’s not the rod. I have both Deputies paired with Zillion SV’s (one US and one JDM) and they are light and probably my favorite combo right now. The JDM Zillion SV is 6.1 oz.

I've got the same reel mounted on a Shimano Expride rod and it doesn't feel heavy at all.  It's my best combo for jerkbaits.

Your avatar is hilarious. lol You can use a lighter rod if you like, that should make it easier to fish.

Is it just a weight thing or is it causing a problem like tired wrists or elbow?  What are you using that combo for?  Are you using the same rod on the other reels?  If no, maybe put the reel on another rod and see how it feels.  Certain techniques with light rods can definitely wear you out over time.  Most of my reels are Steez SV’s (5.5 oz) but I do have some that are heavier.  The only time I really notice a difference is when I’m not fishing.  If I were experiencing more fatigue using one combo, I would try to diagnose why.

Its mainly weight and balance.  It does its job as a versatile combo very well but I feel like I'm not as accurate as I am with my other combos.
