I have one on the way. Was gonna put it on my 7’2” MH Expride but because all they had were 6.3:1 and that’s my jig rod, I’m putting it on my Champ XP 734c for moving baits. Dobyns rods are well balanced so a light reel should be great on one

Anyone had a 2 power Dobyns Champion?

Sounds like a no one that rod. Lol.

I’ve decided I want this rod for weightless flukes, light belly weighted flukes, weightless senkos, and possibly light under spins with like 3.8”-4” keitechs.

Here’s my list right now.

Dobyns Champ Extreme 743 or 703 (would jump on the chance to find an old chameleon colored model)

Kistler KLX 7’ MH

Possibly St Croix Legend Tournament All In

Didn’t really see a Levante that I think would fit what I want.

Daiwa Tat Elite is a possibility.

The rod is actually very versatile. I have fished pretty much everything. It works best for Texas rigged soft plastic, paddle tail swimbaits and light jigs but I have used it for jerkbaits and a few crankbaits.  Downside it is soft at the tip and extremely sensitive. It makes a crankbait feel sort of strange.

As far as the line goes, it's 14lb Sunline BMS Sniper.  It is a little stiff but otherwise it's fantastic.  It's durable, sensitive, and you can easily see it out of the water, if you like to watch line.  I would say it's not for everybody and not for every situation but I would highly recommend it for jigs and soft plastic.  I would order it from a Japan website.  The US price on this line is really high.

Picking up this line. Really digging It. Is there any other colored fluoro lines out there? I’ve always just bought Invisx.

I have a DC732sf. If the 2 power baitcasters are anything like the 2 power spinning rods, I’d hate to try driving home a 5/0 hook with it. The 2 power is a lite action rod IMO.

I use a Kaden 713C for wacky rigs and that’s about as close to finesse as I get in my lake. I use a 734 Champion or Sierra for weightless flukes and I can sling one a mile without much effort. Mucky bottom inhibits using neds and shakey heads, and drop shot ain’t my thing.

Y’all probably see that I over analyze and change my mind a lot but I just got offered a new Megabass Destroyer P5 Dark Sleeper for $300 that I think will be perfect. 95% sure I’ll end up with It.

I have mine on a 7'3" MHF Daiwa Rebellion with 14lb Daiwa J-Fluoro Samurai line (went full Daiwa on that one. Lol) Crazy light combo. Been using it for weightless senkos and flukes.

I have a new St. Croix LTB 73HXF "Power Finesse rod.  Awesome rods. Have a JDM Metanium on mine.

I have one P5 and a few Champions. The P5 is definitely superior in my eyes and I also think it fits better with what you want to throw. Good luck!

Sunline Sniper Invisible. Also great line. I have been using it on a couple of setups. It's different shades of green, kind of camo looking.  Again I would not buy it in the US, too pricey.  I think I paid $11 for 85 yards from Digitaka.

I checked them but since It was the only thing I was buying, shipping brought It up to $29. With discount on TW I got It for $28. Plus I needed to order from TW anyway.

Hope you like it. ?? Just remember it will be stiffer than Invizx.

My typical routine on orders from Japan....  Reel, rod, line, a few baits for that setup and then no more than 2 things that I need to refill or replace.  Line usually takes up the other two things. Which on my last order was the same two lines we have been talking about. I very rarely order a few items.  I always order with the idea of getting free shipping.
