I’m looking at picking up a Poison Adrena. Mainly to throw Tx rigs from 1/4-3/8. Has anyone used the 7’2” hvy or the 7’3” medium heavy for this. Or have you tried to Carolina rig with either of them?

Also, is there a rod in this lineup that you like for squarebills?

 Thanks

I have the 7'3 MH and use it primarily for chatterbaits in grass. If you're used to a MH/F or XF for T-rigs, you may need to get adjusted to the hookset, it has a mod/fast regular action for a 1/2oz (total weight) lure. It just depends on how fast you want that tip to react. For T-rigs, I usually fish them in open water, and use a 7'5 MH/F and (Orochi G1 EMTF) and have no problems setting the hook, even in deeper water (15-20ft), and that's what I'm comfortable with.

I've owned both. I would opt for the cheaper 7'2" MH Expride everyday of the week and twice on Sunday.

The Poison Adrenas are really light and extremely well built so if that is a priority then they are a great option.  The Poison Glorious and Poison Ultima lines are lighter still but you have to order them from JDM vendors.  Actually, my Poison Adrenas are mostly JDM sourced because they have better BFS/ML/M options. Plus all my JDM PA rods came with a nice zippered nylon rod cover.

The 7'2" Medium PA is great for smaller 1.5 cranks.  Good for spinnerbaits and chatters as well.

Before purchasing a new fishing rod, I compared the Poison Adrenas side by side with the Zodias.  Both are extremely light high quality rods.  I chose the Zodias for the lower cost.  I liked it so much I bought another.  I own a 6' 10" MH and a 7' 2" MH.  The 6' 10 is much lighter than the 7' 2" MH.  It is great for lighter lures and plastics. I think it's the best Senko rod there is.  The 7' 2" is a work horse.  I use it for large crankbaits and spinnerbaits.  I occasionally use it for flipping and pitching as well.

I have the 7'3" MH Adrena but I don't have a ton of time with it yet. In my short use I find it to be a very versatile rod. I've used it for lighter t-rigs, Flukes and Senkos, it's fast enough to handle those but I don't think this rod would be great for anything very heavy, like jigs.

I also feel like the mod fast action would be awesome for chatterbaits, spinnerbaits and traps but I haven't tried those yet. Overall the rod is light and sensitive and I'm happy with the purchase.

I have the 6'11M+, 7'3MH, and the 7'2H.  I fish T-rigs on the M+ or H and love it, super lightweight, sensitive, with sneaky power.  I don't throw squarebills often, but throw them on the 7'3MH.  I never throw a Carolina rig on them, but do use the M+ for mojo rigs w/ 6-8" worms.

If you really want to do all that in one rod, I'd suggest the 7'2H or even maybe the 6'11M+.

I just bought one, exprides are excepcional but with the 20% discount they're currently selling plus being on stock they are a great deal.
