fishermantony Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 Thank you man! That is the first time I have seen it at all in 6 months! I am so exited! No problem brother. Not long now, huh? Man, I wish we could take one more trip out. I'm not the same fisherman I was last time we went. Learned a few more techniques and gotten better at "seeing" the water. I'm not the same fisherman either. Quote

helms83 Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 I'm doing the same thing right now. I'm in between buying a brand new Bass Tracker Pro 16 or maybe an older, worn in, pre-owned for my first boat. I've been looking on craigslist and have seen some good deals for good boats, just worried about "as-is" and something 'big' being wrong with the boat. It has to wait until the beggining of 2012, that's when I come back from Afghanistan (I leave in a few months). I'm so excited to come back and fish my very first spring season and from my very first boat! Man I wish I joined the Air Force, lol!!! Quote
Super User cart7t Posted July 19, 2010 Super User Posted July 19, 2010 I just sold my Champion for $4k. It had been completely redone. There are good deals to be found in this economy. Especially from guys like me needing the cash or others trying to get out from under a boat payment. Don't wish about owning that boat, go out and get one. I wish this economy was not so hard to deal with cause man I hate to hear that you had to sell your boat and I hope and pray the future holds bigger and better things for you and yours. Thanks. A little more to it than just the economy. Divorce is an evil word that hates boats. Besides, I've been bitten by the golf bug again. Quote

If you have that long to look for a boat, then you should watch craigslist almost everyday if you can. You'll get a good feel for what's a good deal and what to stay away from. As long as you are patient and do all the things talked about in this forum on checking out a boat before you buy (search the subject and read up), you'll almost be guaranteed to get a great used boat at a great price. Can't recommend a new boat, and especially a tracker right now. Good luck in your deployment, and Thanks for serving! We'll be praying for you guys. Quote
