While I don't doubt red ewg hooks, red treble hooks, & straight shank hooks make a difference. What I do doubt is when someone tries putting a precentage on that difference.

They’re the same price as bronze or black nickel hooks in nearly all models, so if it gives you confidence, go ahead and buy them. I’ll still probably snicker and grin if I see you out on the water throwing them though ?

Everyone points out that the red coating wears off and the hooks turn gold.  Any thoughts on if the gold coloring is detouring to bass?  

 

I use mostly Gammy EWG, odd size hooks in red, even size hooks in black.  After two seasons, the jury is still out for me.

I joined the club today. I put red rims on my green Ferrari.
