Do you find the south end of the reservoir more productive for summer patterns ?

But, does your question change if the south end is the upper end?  Not that my answer changes....just curious.

(Not smallmouth specific)  I believe that once you get to a true Summer pattern it will be lake wide.  During transitions you may find different patterns in different areas of a big lake.  I also believe these transitions are more likely to occur in different areas, at different times if the dam is to the south, and the inlet/river it to the north.

summer patterns for me is usually smallmouth are blasting shad on the surface or hanging out around some bluffs/cliffs. They don’t seem to care which end of the reservoirs, especially because they meander in all directions

For me, it depends more on the depth of the water.  When targeting smallmouth, I always look for deeper water, but not necessarily the deepest water.  This time of year, the water isn't usually changing temperature rapidly, so I'm not worried about north or south ends, per se.

I fish the north central part of Table Rock lake up in the river where the water is dingy and the bass don’t go deep.  The southern end is over 50 miles by water so I don’t go there.
