Jeffrey Walker Posted June 27, 2022 Posted June 27, 2022 there are several micro ultra short ultra light spinning rods in the market, like 3 feet and smaller but is there anything like that for a bait casting setup? Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted June 27, 2022 Super User Posted June 27, 2022 Best I can come up with is the old Shakespeare Micro series - usually around 4'6", UL casting rods You can find them on E-Bay from some sellers. Quote
JHTR20 Posted June 27, 2022 Posted June 27, 2022 This topic was discussed on last weeks mudhole webinar. They didn't talk about as small as you mention but it was an interesting show. I would think the video is on you tube by now. You can always build one yourself or have a local rodmaker build you up one. Quote
MrJosh Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 Buy a dock demo.. Throw away the reel. Put a bait caster reel on it and your done. Quote
Super User the reel ess Posted June 29, 2022 Super User Posted June 29, 2022 I have a 6' light ABU Garcia "Harold Ensley" casting rod my dad had when he died. It didn't have a reel on it, so I'm not sure why he even had it. I have an H2O Tac 40 reel on it, spooled with light braid. I scavenged that braid for a new reel yesterday, so I'm probably going to fill the light combo with 4# Trout SOS mono. I'm not really sure what I'll use it for, if I ever do. All I've used it for so far is to toss a standard size Pop R. I'm more into power fishing. Most places I fish have a lot of vegetation. I suppose it would make a good panfish combo. Really, I'm just reaching for a reason to use my dad's stuff. Quote
jdr99a Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 I put an slx mgl on a 5 ft 6 medium (more like a ml)h2oxpress rod from academy. It’s been fun with small cranks and wacky rigs. Quote
