My punching go-to bait. 4" big bite yo mama; craw orange swirl, brownbait. Like these for downsized punching and cut down for a jig trailer. 3" big bite yo mama; craw orange and watermelon green copper flake. I use these as 1/4oz. Bladed ,swim jig and jig trailers. How much bulkier is the double wide? Keep meaning to grab a pack because I love the standard beavers so much. 1 Quote

Lol…fair enough. I’m not sure how that discounts my suggestion. I imagine you could try all sorts of new things and still consider the conditions, etc. Anyway, good luck and sorry for the honest attempt at providing a suggestion ✌️. p.s. Try a 1” paddle tail swimbait…they work great in our crystal clear waters with 25’ of visibility ?. 1 Quote

While it is longer, wider and thicker its not twice or double of a regular beaver, I'd say more like 25% so. 2 1 Quote
Super User the reel ess Posted June 27, 2022 Super User Posted June 27, 2022 If you've never tried the Berkley Powerbait Chigger Craw, it's well worth a shot. They smell like a seafood restaurant dumpster. Fish will hold them all day. I used them for a while, but they're a little too soft for trailers. I went through them too quickly. Work great T-rigged. 2 Quote
Cbump Posted June 27, 2022 Posted June 27, 2022 I have so many! If underspin: keitech paddle tail in sexy Shad or similar color if t-rig I like 10” power worm in motor oil, 10.5” ol monster in green pumpkin or June bug, Zoom ultra vibe speed worm in same colors for a little smaller profile weightless senko in baby bass wacky I like zoom finesse or trick worms drop shot 6” or 7” roboworm in Aaron’s morning Dawn or witches T magnum shakey 10” bull worm in June bug swing head Z craw in June bug 2 Quote
Super User TOXIC Posted June 27, 2022 Super User Posted June 27, 2022 Since I only fish Yamamoto plastics I am waiting to try their new Ned Senko. As for rigging, there’s literally hundreds of ways to rig plastics and it can, IMHO, become confusing to the point of crippling bait selection. I try to keep it simple and to what I know works. 1 Quote
Lead Head Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 T-rig is zoom baby brush hog. Jig trailer is rage structure bug or pit boss. I favor the rage bug because it has the most pleasing smell of any soft plastic. I like it so much I might spray it in my truck if they sold it in a bottle. Pit boss just smells like powerbait... cheap fish food stink, I hate it. It will catch fish though. 1 Quote

looking45 Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 No specific brand, always have these rigged. Senko, Ned bait, paddle tail swim bait. 1 Quote

Allen You would think that’s a given right? They have never offered them in those colors. I use a lot of 956 and 957. Seem to work well as a Shad imitator usually one will work better than the other. I will bring it up to them. 3 Quote

Figured given the bait shape and the popularity of those colors it would be a good seller. I would pre-order 50 packs if you can convince them. Allen 1 Quote
Sphynx Posted June 28, 2022 Author Posted June 28, 2022 Well, I just placed an order through TW for a ton of new to me plastics, should get through most of them before the winter...a few of them I can see making the grade for permanent additions to my arsenal if they perform like I think they will. I have the rare opportunity to say that living in Oregon is a good thing in this regard, it tends to get me stuff from TW in a couple of days rather than the usual nonsense...that all of course depends on when the order is processed and actually ships lol 1 Quote

Sphynx Posted June 29, 2022 Author Posted June 29, 2022 Well hot d**n, it shipped already, can't say that I am unhappy with TW, even if I can secretly wish they had all available baits lol Quote
Super User scaleface Posted June 29, 2022 Super User Posted June 29, 2022 The past two years I have converted to the Yum Dinger as my main worm . I Texas rig that worm by stiking a 3.0 or 4.0 offset hook through the slot ,no EWG . I do not texpose the hook in the slot .When a bite is detected , I put slight pressure on the fish then pull back, Greg Hackney style . . My last two outings I have went through 7 bags of them . Open water situations Gitzits have been dealing . 1 Quote
Super User Boomstick Posted June 29, 2022 Super User Posted June 29, 2022 Most soft plastics will catch bass. Some years ago, my oldest kid had a gift card to Dicks and they had some Big Bite Baits stickbaits for $1. He bought them up and still has some and has caught many fish on them. That said, I have been liking XZone soft plastics a lot lately, although on the other side of the cost spectrum. The original Senkos might still be the best stickbait. The Strike King KVD Ochos are great but don't hold up as well. Can't go wrong with Roboworm, and NetBait and Rage for jig trailers. Quote
GetFishorDieTryin Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 Get a pack of Grande Bass Airtails, they're a simple worm that's extremely versatile. The tail makes them stand up straight off the bottom, so they're great for Trigs/SHs and neko rigs. Save them after they wear out. The last 3-4" are great for ned rigs or jigworms. If your only going to get 1 color go with Trophy Hunter. It's a junebug/watermelon red laminate that works in just about any condition. 1 Quote

Airtail Wiggler's and Airtail Rattlesnake's are two of my favorite T-Rig and Shakeyhead baits, they absolutely murder smallies on the river for me. 1 Quote
