Came across a bag of this color in a Sweet Beaver that I’ve had for sometime. Don’t recall why I bought them, probably a reaction from a Bait Monkey bite. It’s a dark watermelon/ GP color with gold flake. Looking for thoughts on what situations this color would be used and what prey it would imitate?

Thanks….Joe

Im not familiar with that exact color but green pumpkin gold flake is a pretty versatile bait. I like to use the color in murkier water on a bait that will be moving a lot; like a chatterbait trailer or even a tube with a stroking retrieve. I have no proof to back this up but I believe the sun reflecting off the gold flakes makes it look like a baitfish's scale reflecting the sun. I dont go out of  my way to seek the color but I own a few bags in different baits of the color. As most colors with a green pumpkin and/or watermelon base, it probably imitates sunfish and crawfish well

Try it, RI has some color names like sprayed grass that have become standards.

That’s the thought that prompted my question. May try them on a Jika rig as well!

Thanks

In my head, green pumpkin with gold flake feels juvenile bass/bream like to me.  So I like it post spawn/summer.
